Physio Spotlight: Bridie ⭐️
Our Sports Physiotherapist, Bridie, recently returned from Singapore, where she represented Australia as the team physiotherapist for the Under-23 Men’s and Women’s 3x3 teams at the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League, with the competition providing the opportunity to qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
It was an incredible campaign, with the women going undefeated with 18 wins from 18 games, while the men won an impressive 17 of their 18 games — earning their opportunity to compete on the world stage.
As team physiotherapist, Bridie’s role extends well beyond courtside injury management. A huge amount of preparation goes into each tour, including exercise prescription, injury prevention and management, athlete welfare check-ins, recovery planning, and preparing the medical equipment required to support the athletes throughout competition.
A highlight of the Singapore tour for Bridie was working alongside a fantastic group of staff and athletes who worked exceptionally well together, as well as having the opportunity to meet and work with new athletes.
Bridie has now had the amazing opportunity to represent Australia multiple times as a physiotherapist, and this Sunday she heads to Wuhan, China, with the Australian teams for the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup.
We wish Bridie and the teams the very best as they take on the world! 🇦🇺🏀
