Some opportunities aren’t meant to be taken.
Walking onto Shark Tank was never about the money. It was about showing up for my Mum, for the women in our communities, and for every person who told us this dream was too small, too remote, too different.
I turned down the Shark Tank investment because it didn’t align with protecting my Mum’s legacy or our vision of supporting women from rural and remote communities, and I’d do it the same way every single time.
Mum raised me in Kakadu with a deep love for country, for native ingredients, and for the people who’ve cared for this land for tens of thousands of years. What we’ve built at Kakadu Organics isn’t just a brand. It’s a continuation of her story. That’s not something you put a dollar figure on.
The right path isn’t always the easiest one. But staying true to our values has led us to places I never imagined. From shelves across Australia to Singapore, the UK and beyond.
To every woman out there building something from the ground up, in places people overlook, keep going. Your vision is enough. 🌺
