On the last day of the ACM National Conference at the beautiful Gold Coast, I reflected on my practice and finally decided to share my thesis. I actually completed this December last year, however, inevitably life gets busy (Phd/Private Practice/Manager ANMF) additionally, other wonderful midwives harranged me indicating that they wanted to read and cite it! Yay 🙏 I am excited to share and must express my sincere appreciation to Professor Kathleen Baird and Associate Professor Vanessa Scarf for their support, expertise, and patience! on my novice researcher journey. You both are outstanding, advocating for women and midwives. I was extremely privileged to have you both as supervisors. Thank you also to the EPPMs that participated in the research, and I hope I have reflected your voices in my writing.

Lanugo is the fine, temporary hair that covers much of the fetus during development. It helps vernix caseosa cling to the skin, supporting the protective barrier that forms in the womb. Most lanugo is shed before birth, though some may still be visible in newborns—especially those born early.

A welcome sight overnight, with an additional 400 of you signing our parliamentary petition for Homebirth access.

The more that sign, the more serious the Health Minister will take this issue.

An insurer should not get to override existing homebirth arrangements to effectively eliminate homebirth access from rural and regional areas.
