As a member or past member of VicGUM we offer this opportunity.

GUM, along with the Deniliquin Family History Group, have arranged a series of Family Tree Maker workshops in Deniliquin, NSW.
These Workshops consists of six, three hours workshops, once per month, over six months starting on 24th June 2026 and finishing during November 2026.
During these sessions you will learn how to setup and prepare your FTM so that you can make a book on your family history.
These are “hands on” workshops so you need to bring your laptop with Family Tree Maker installed.
It is preferable that you have started your family tree although we will cater for beginners.

Deniliquin Genealogy held the opening of the ANZAC Photo Exhibition this morning. Thankyou to our 2 guest speakers and to those that attended.
We learnt a little about our Deni soldiers and the roles they played in the wars. Thanks also to Edward River Library for their assistance and also to our members for providing morning tea.

'We need your Help'
The Deniliquin Genealogy Society Inc. are organizing a display at the Edward River Library for the month of April.

We ask for your help with PHOTOGRAPH'S, MEMORABILIA of your soldier who had a connection to Deniliquin & District.
Servicemen born, enlisted, worked or lived in the Deniliquin district at the time of their enlistment. Contact Val 03 5881 3980 or bring your photos in either Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm Friday mornings 10.30am - 1pm. Photos will be scanned and returned straight away. Thank you in anticipation.

We have visitors from overseas coming this week and need some help finding any descendants of the following family.
LOOKING FOR DESCENDANTS
OF
Anders Eric BJORCK
Anders was born on 10th December1850 Rattvik, Dalama, Sweeden. Information from his Naturalization certificate. He arrived in Australia 21st April 1873 on board the ship ‘Calcutta’ disembarked in Melbourne, Victoria. Described as a painter.
He remained in Melbourne until September 1878 when he came to Deniliquin. Anders married Catherine Lucy McDonnell, they had four children.
Anders died in 10th Jan1909 in Rookwood Asylum. Catherine died March 1939 at Northcote Vic. Eric was the remaining descendant.

They had four children all born in Deniliquin and attended the local Catholic School.
Henry G.A., born 11th Jul 1882. In 1939 he was granted the transferal of the license of the Carriers Rest Hotel in Napier Street, he previously ran the Court House Hotel. Also known as Harry.
John E., born 22 Feb 1884 May have gone under the name of Eric
Daniel O. P. born1886 died 26th March 1908 at Geraldton Hospital North Queensland., Malaria.
Charles J. born 6th April 1897 Deniliquin died 2nd July1917 in Edward River drowning Accident.
We haven’t been able to find the deaths of Henry G A ‘Harry’ or John E ‘Eric’
Or if either of them married & had children. Bjorck, Bjork, Bjorck.
We have relatives coming over in early December from Sweden can you help?.
