Sometimes it can be hard to separate the person from the trauma. Using the three phased approach, I work with people who have experienced trauma to stabilise the symptoms, process the trauma and connect the healing work back into daily life and relationships.

I'm very proud to be Vice President of the Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group- MHAG

If you need to find local resources and services, there is a wealth of information on our website.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is say, "I'm not okay."

Living in a rural community often means we're used to being strong, getting on with things, and looking after everyone else. But strength also means knowing when to reach out.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, weighed down by past experiences, or simply not feeling like yourself, you don't have to carry it alone.

Support is here if you need it

I'm continually humbled and honoured to work alongside victim-survivors as they navigate healing and recovery. Seeking support takes enormous courage, and it's wonderful to see information about the Victims Support Scheme being shared so more people know that counselling and other supports are available.

When your mind won't switch off...

Have you ever found yourself lying awake at night, replaying conversations, worrying about the future, or going over things you wish you'd said or done differently?

This is called rumination.

Rumination is when we get caught in repetitive, unhelpful thought patterns. It can feel like we're trying to solve a problem, but instead we end up going around in circles. The more we think, the more overwhelmed, anxious, or low we can begin to feel.

Rumination can make it difficult to sleep, concentrate, make decisions, or enjoy the present moment. It often keeps us stuck in the past or worrying about a future that hasn't happened.

If this sounds familiar, know that you're not alone. Rumination is a common experience, particularly during times of stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or significant life changes.

The good news is that rumination isn't something you have to live with forever. Learning to recognise the pattern is the first step, and there are evidence-based strategies that can help you break the cycle and reconnect with the present.

If you're finding it difficult to quiet your mind, therapy can provide practical tools and support to help you move forward.
