"It's inevitable that people add things on because they want to throw everything at it."

The attitude is: it can't hurt. Most patients assume more can only help.
Specialists see this every day.

Yet, retrospectively PGT is a cautionary tale: sometimes add-ons don't help, they harm chances. Here, I saw myself 13 years ago, faced with the same decision.

Sometimes, less really is more... want to know more? Comment NEST and I'll get in touch.

Last year, I was chuffed to see donuts at FSANZ25 as my daughter used to call her donor, her donut, when speaking about her origins as a very young child. She's not alone. Turns out donuts have been quietly representing us all along.

I'm one of six brave souls taking the stage for Crossed a Line on Thursday 30 July.

Luke Joseph Ryan
Poppy Sloan
Xavier Michelides
Anomie Atkins
Ella-Jane Williams
Samantha Bickell

Hosted by the magnificent Rob Pollard (thankfully, a friendly face!)

No spoilers. No made-up stories. Just six humans standing under one light telling you about the moments they crossed a line... accidentally, deliberately, gloriously or with immediate regret.

Some stories will make you howl.

Some will make you squirm.

Some might stay with you for a very long time.

I was scared to tell this story but, like last year's story, I believe it belongs in the public sphere and may be personally useful to some.

It's SOLD OUT but I'll share the video when it becomes available.

I'm really hoping to be less nervous than last time! Wish me well ๐Ÿ‘‡

Attending ESHRE 2026 in London was a stretch for meโ€”as an Australian solo mum by choice and founder of NEST Coaching Club, supporting women and LGBTQIA+ people through fertility treatment, travelling halfway around the world (with my daughter who had to stay with friends in London) was no small thing.

It was worth it.

The developments I welcomed most were the Society's position paper on donor family limits and The Big Donor Conception Survey. Together, they acknowledge what many donor-conceived families have been saying for years: that uncertainty around donor sibling numbers and family limits has lifelong implications and deserves far greater transparency.

I was encouraged by the increasing focus on improving male fertility diagnostics which will reduce unnecessary treatment for women as well as improving success rates, and pleased to join the International Reproductive Health Education Collaboration (IRHEC) session, where I hope to contribute in the future - as someone who experienced infertility and regret, Iโ€™m keen to use my lived and health research translation experience in useful ways.

Some of the most thought-provoking work explored digital fertility advertising, AI relationships and techno-intimacy, and the impact of marketing AMH testing for uses beyond the evidence. As our lives are increasingly lived online, this research highlights ethical issues and social needs.

The science continues to advance, and so does our understanding of what good fertility care looks like. At its best, it combines evidence-based treatment with ethical practice, clear communication and compassionate support for the people experiencing it.

And a heartfelt thank you to Monique Shaw for providing such a warm and welcoming home for my daughter while I attended. It made this opportunity possible.

NEST is coaching + community and was designed by someone who knows intimately what it is like to feel alone through infertility and assisted reproduction, including IVF as a solo-mum-by-choice. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Put a โœจ๏ธ below if you can relate, or let me know what words you'd put to your fertility or family building journey.

My heart was thumping and my palms sweating. I missed one joke and mis-paced another. The big crowd was still moved and I got a lovely review from a previous work colleague (see images).

Thank you Andrea Gibbs for the wonderful edit of my story and for all the encouragement.

I am open to presenting this story (and others) anytime and where because I think it is important. It could work in health care PD events, women's circles and workplace wellness. It's a ten minute story, which could act as a prompt to discussion. Tag someone you know who works in HR, nursing, obstetrics, gynaecology, fertility or women's wellness below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Yep, I'm telling a true story on stage Thurs 27 Nov.

It's deeply personal, funny, gross and has heart. I think you'll be moved and maybe, relate. (no spoilers)

I'd love to see some friendly faces in the audience AND I'd love you to bring a Millennial friend, colleague, neighbour or relative.

This is a story I believe belongs in the public sphere but for Millennials, it may even be personally helpful.

If you are planning on coming, let me know in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡ as I'd like to get together after the show - I'll probably still have adrenaline running through my body.

๐Ÿ“ธ Total photoshop lie as I haven't been on stage yet.
