Welcome to our newest team member Rita!

Rita Cruz is a humanitarian turned physiotherapist who loves to work with people and guide them through the ways that movement can improve their quality of life.

She has worked in Portugal with acute and chronic neurological conditions, both in a rehabilitation hospital and in domestic settings, specializing in the Bobath approach for stroke patients. In recent years she worked with the refugee community in Malaysia, focusing mostly on orthopaedic conditions.

Although she finds all areas of physiotherapy fascinating, it is her new passion that brings her to Symmetree: Women’s Health. Her interest started during her pregnancy and deepened with her struggles with movement dysfunction afterwards, and the realisation that so much is still to be understood and researched. Women's Health was a forgotten area of health for far too long, and Rita loves a challenge. She can’t wait to help you and guide you through the most up-to-date knowledge on the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor area and other related conditions associated with the very complex woman’s body.

Other than a physiotherapist, Rita is a proud mum of two lovely boys and a published Portuguese fiction writer.
