Celebrating 20 Years of Care: Honoring Our Registered Nurse, Helen McAlpine
For two decades, patients walking through the doors of Dr Anoop Rastogi’s clinic have been greeted by a steady presence: Registered Nurse Helen McAlpine.

Today, we celebrate Helen’s 20-year milestone with Dr Rastogi and nearly 40 years in the industry, a testament to skill, compassion, and the kind of quiet leadership that transforms a clinic into a community.

From her very first days, Helen set the tone for what great nursing looks like: calm in the busy moments, meticulous with clinical care, and endlessly generous with her time.

She has supported thousands of patients through procedures and recoveries, always balancing clinical excellence with genuine human warmth. Many have told us that Helen’s reassuring voice and clear explanations turned anxiety into understanding, and uncertainty into confidence.

You can book in for a complimentary consultation with Helen, Monday - Wednesday. Use the button below to book.

Your New Implants Will Sit High at First. That's Meant to Happen.

The first few days: You'll go home with paper tapes over your incisions and a support person on standby, because the general anaesthetic can leave you faint and lightheaded for a day or two. Discomfort is at its worst early, and some women feel sharp, shooting pains as the nerves wake up and realign. They feel alarming and mean nothing sinister.

From 24 hours: you can shower normally and let the wet tapes peel away.

From 48 hours: light walking is encouraged. Driving waits a little longer: never within 24 hours of a general anaesthetic.

Weeks one and two: The rules here are about protecting the work while life goes on. No repetitive arm movements like vacuuming or sweeping for the first week. Nothing over 8kg for five to six weeks. Heart rate under 100bpm for three weeks, because a pounding pulse raises the risk of bleeding. And you'll be sleeping on your back for the first fortnight, which is the rule patients grumble about most.
Most of our patients are back at work somewhere between day four and day seven.

Week three to three months: You'll have to wait for the blog to come out! Keep an eye out on our website, link https://www.rastogi.com.au/blog/
