What an awesome couple of days last week at the ACNEM conference Australasian College of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine
Every speaker was amazing & we all learned so much about “Hormonal Health Across the Lifespan”
So great to see a (big!) room full of passionate practitioners from all modalities, lots of GPs, nat health & allied health pracs all nerding out together 🤓 great convos and networking was had by all!
Integrated health care for the win 🥇🤘🏽
Takeaways;
🌿 As natural health pracs we are very well positioned to help at any stage of the life span as there is SO MUCH we can do & we have so many tools in the tool kit
💩 The microbiome is a KEY PLAYER at every stage (well I already knew that one!) - but great to see it feature so heavily in the education & see so much new research coming out to support that knowledge, that means we can get even more specific & targeted with treatments
💦 ”Reverse osmosis water filters are no longer a luxury, they’re a necessity” Nicole Bijlsma (I also already knew this one as I invested in one last year and it’s the best thing ever)
BUT it’s not just water - environmental toxins are EVERYWHERE & in EVERYTHING and they’re getting worse *DM me for the list of tips to reduce exposures
(I cropped the photo too much to post 🤪 coz I’m such an insta expert 😂)
🥵 MHT (Menopausal Hormone Therapy - previously HRT - excellent rebrand ) is awesome for most women from perimenopause on, not dangerous (mostly due to different forms of hormones - now bio-identical, more to that story but too much to post) AS IS SOY
(whole soy foods - not processed crap) and SOY isoflavone supplements *always seek advice of qualified HP
🤓 and so much more that I’ll be incorporating into clinic practice ..
If your hormones are up the s**t - come see one of us coz there so much we can do!
EDIT ✍️ forgot to mention all my beautiful friends and colleagues that were there too - was SO GOOD to connect and network - love our community 💚💚💚
And special thanks to my super cool roomie 👯♀️
