🎶 The Pickeld Onions - Live at Bellarine Springs!

What a rock ‘n roll afternoon we had recently with a fantastic performance from The Pickeld Onions at Bellarine Springs.

The band rocked through our favourite hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, and it was wonderful to see so many up dancing, singing along, and enjoying the great atmosphere (with full bar facilities adding to the fun 🍻).

For those who may not know the band:

🎸 The Pickeld Onions comprises:

John Barsby (Bass Guitar & Vocals) and proud Bellarine Springs resident
Donald “Dr Don” Fraser (Lead/Rhythm Guitar & Vocals)
Gary Corcoran (Drums & Vocals)
Over the years, The Pickeld Onions have performed at wineries, birthday parties, restaurants and community events - always aiming to bring a fun, vibrant energy that gets people moving and memories flowing.

And for those wondering about the name… 😉
“Pickeld” is intentionally spelt that way - it’s the old English way of saying someone may have enjoyed just a little too much to drink!

Our Bellarine Springs residents recently enjoyed a fascinating visit to Hastings Ostrich Farm in Winchelsea! 🐦
Established in 1989, the farm is a pioneer in the Australian ostrich industry and is home to more than 3,000 birds. Residents learned all about ostrich farming, breeding programs, sustainable ostrich meat, luxury leather products and met some of the farm’s unique feathered residents.
Did you know?
✨ An ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain
✨ They can weigh up to 180kg
✨ Ostrich eggs can weigh more than 1.5kg
✨ Ostrich leather is known as the “Rolls Royce” of leathers

From elegant strands of pearls and long beads to delicate gold and silver chains and sparkling earrings, there was something to suit every style and taste.
While many residents found beautiful gifts for loved ones, there were also plenty of well-deserved treats for themselves! 🌸
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with browsing, chatting, laughter, and the simple joy of sharing beautiful things with friends. 💖
