🏡 “When I drove in here, I said, this is right. It feels right.”

That was retired teacher Phil's first impression of Bellarine Springs, and since moving in with his wife Josie, that feeling has only grown.

Phil describes village life as a positive lifestyle choice, with the independence of their own home, the reassurance of a secure community and plenty of ways to stay active and connected.

“It’s not aged care at all,” he says. “It’s a whole different part of the community.”

🌱 A warm welcome to Bodie, our new apprentice gardener at Bellarine Springs.

Bodie has joined the Property team and will be helping keep the village grounds looking their best.

“I enjoy gardening and working outdoors, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping keep the village looking at its best,” Bodie says. “Outside of work, I enjoy playing footy and spending time with friends. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming a part of the Bellarine Springs community.”

For residents, well-kept gardens and cared-for outdoor spaces are part of everyday life here. They make morning walks more enjoyable, give the village its peaceful feel, and create beautiful places to stop, chat or spend time outside.

It’s lovely to have Bodie joining the team, and we look forward to introducing him properly around the village.

Research shared by Ageing Australia suggests it can. Retirement community residents scored 77.5 on the Catalyst Wellness Index, compared with 71.3 for older Australians living elsewhere.

The research also found that 41% of residents felt happier after moving, while 93% reported that their life satisfaction had remained stable or improved. Residents experienced up to 35% less loneliness, were five times more socially active and were twice as likely to regularly connect with family and friends.

A recent VIP2026 session, “Climate Change Through Geological Time: A Geologist’s Perspective,” was presented by Geoff Turner and explored Earth’s climate history, ancient geological change and today’s rapid warming trend.
