The behaviour is the smoke, not the fire. 🔥

When your child is having a meltdown in the middle of the supermarket, it’s so easy to feel embarrassed. You feel the eyes on you, and it’s hard not to just label it as "bad behaviour." I completely get it.

But if we can step back and observe objectively, we start to see it differently.

That behaviour? It’s communication. It’s your child telling you that something in their environment is not okay for them, and they simply don't have the skills to express it in any other way yet.

Next time you're in that tough moment, I want to challenge you to shift from judgment to curiosity. Separate the behaviour from your child and ask:

💭 "What is going on for my little person right now?"
💭 "What do they need from me in this moment?"

When we change the question, we change how we support them.

When systems aren't clear, everyone feels the impact. 📉

In the disability and education spaces, we often see what happens when there's a disconnect between compliance and true empowerment. Authority gets confused. Staff are left operating in uncertainty. Escalation becomes reactive instead of proactive. And ultimately? Burnout increases while psychological safety declines.

It’s a cycle that leaves both teams and the families they support feeling overwhelmed. But it doesn't have to stay this way.

Building clear, supportive systems changes the game, for your staff, and for the neurodivergent individuals you support.

If your team is feeling the strain and you're ready to shift from reactive to empowered, I can help. Swipe to see how we can work together, and let's chat about bringing better behaviour and leadership strategies to your space. 💬

I didn't set out to win awards. I was just trying to fix what I kept seeing broken.

After years working in education, I saw too many children and families trying to navigate systems that weren't built for the realities they faced. I believed there had to be a better way, so I created one.

I’m Chantelle. I’m a mum of nine, a proud Dubbo local, and I’ve spent over twenty-five years walking alongside families to help them navigate complex challenges with compassion and clarity.

My work is guided by a simple belief: meaningful change begins with connection. By listening first, leading with kindness, and creating practical pathways that help people feel supported and understood.

Swipe through to learn a little more about my story. If you're looking for thoughtful conversations about behaviour support, navigating the NDIS, and creating better outcomes for children and families, you're in the right place.

Welcome. 💛

Some kids get labelled early. Too hard. Too complex. Not a good fit. Too difficult.

What people don’t see is how much work happens after that label. The families trying to keep going, practitioners doing the slow, careful work of rebuilding safety, and the kind of wraparound support that changes lives.

We’ve kept showing up for the kids who are easiest to overlook, the regional families, complex needs, and the ones who need a system to make room for them (not the other way around).

So it’s meaningful to have that work recognised internationally: two Silver Stevies and a Bronze in the 2026 International Business Awards.

Growing up, I always felt different. I didn't know back then that I had undiagnosed ADHD. I just knew I didn't quite fit the mold.

Now, as a behaviour support practitioner, that lived experience is exactly why I do what I do. This work fills my cup because I know firsthand how transformative it is to have someone truly believe in you.

Recently, a young boy I've worked with for five years finally understood his autism. He realised he isn't a 'bad kid', his brain just works differently. Seeing him embrace that? That is everything.

Being a mum is hard. Navigating the system is hard. But when we can help our kids understand themselves and feel good about who they are, it changes everything.

Working in high-emotion service sectors can often feel like you're constantly putting out fires. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Through the Diagnostic and Redesign Partnership, I work with you to look beneath the surface. Together, we diagnose and redesign the systems that are actually shaping behaviour in your organisation.

The goal? Moving your team from operating in uncertainty to moving forward with absolute clarity.

If you're ready to transform how your service operates, let's connect. Send me a message to learn more about working together.

What an incredible honour to see our Director, Channy Ryan, recognised alongside such an inspiring group of women as a finalist in the 2026 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards. 🏆

Spear & Arrow was built on a simple belief: people and families deserve to feel heard, valued and supported, not processed through a system.

To have that work recognised at a national level means so much, and it reflects the heart, commitment and hard work of our entire Spear & Arrow team and the families and communities who trust us to walk alongside them.

We’re very proud to be heading to Sydney in October for the awards night at The Fullerton Hotel.

Congratulations to all of the incredible finalists. What a group of women to be standing alongside! 💛

Now we count down to 26 October! 🤞

"What the hell are you doing?"

That was the most common reaction when I decided to leave my role as an Assistant Principal. I had great conditions and long service leave just around the corner.

Leaving a 16-year teaching career wasn't just a professional shift, it was a social one. Some people stepped back when I was no longer "a teacher." And stepping into the health and disability space? It was tough. My education degree was sometimes frowned upon because I wasn't a social worker, a psychologist, or an OT.

But here's what I've learned over the last five years: the soft skills you develop in the classroom (building relationships, managing complex stakeholders, and understanding human behaviour) are exactly what you need in behaviour support. I just had to learn the health side of things.

If you're navigating a massive career pivot, especially into the NDIS space, know that your past experience isn't a liability. It's your foundation.

Hi, I’m Chantelle. 👋

For over twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside leaders, teams, and organisations navigating some of the most complex and emotionally demanding environments across the NDIS, education, and community sectors.

Leadership in these spaces can often feel overwhelming. But I fundamentally believe that people must always come before processes, and that great leadership starts with genuine human connection.

My goal is simple: to help you respond to challenges with clarity, confidence, and care, even under pressure. Whether it’s through coaching, leadership development, workshops, or behaviour support, I’m here to help bring calm to the complexity.
