And that’s a wrap on Women’s Health Week! 🤍

We’ve talked about making time for your health, checking in with yourself and looking after you at every age and every stage.

But our final thought for the week?

Periods. Hormones. Pregnancy. Postpartum. Perimenopause. Menopause… and everything in between.

Being a woman really should come with a user manual. 😂

Here’s to women, their health, and figuring it all out as we go. 🤍

Women are often very good at keeping track of everyone else.

The appointments. The medications. The school notes. The check-ups. The things that need to be done.

But when did you last check in with you?

Women’s Health Week is a good reminder to think about the things that can easily get pushed down the list — your physical health, mental wellbeing, sleep, screenings, preventative health and those little concerns you’ve been meaning to ask about.

You don’t need to wait until something feels wrong to make your health a priority.

This week, put yourself back on the list. 🤍

It’s Women’s Health Week 💚

And a timely reminder that looking after everyone else shouldn’t mean putting your own health at the bottom of the list.

Whether it’s a check-up you’ve been putting off, a conversation about your mental health, a screening that’s due, or simply taking the time to ask, “How am I going?” — your health matters too.

This Women’s Health Week, we’re encouraging women in our community to make their health a priority, at every age and every stage.

Small steps count. Start with you. 🤍

🚨 MISSING PERSON 🚨

We’re looking for the person who was supposed to be running our social media.

They were last seen somewhere around Dr Jenny Geraghty’s retirement, where you all completely overwhelmed us with the incredible amount of love, memories and beautiful messages shared for Jenny. 💙

There was one confirmed sighting shortly afterwards when they briefly resurfaced to announce the arrival of Dr Dean Grimmond… 👀

And then?

Gone again. 😂

To be fair, they may still be recovering from Jenny’s retirement post reaching more than 17,000 views — or they’ve simply been hiding behind the classic “we’ve been really busy” excuse.

Either way, we’ve launched a search party, located the social media password and can confirm they have been returned safely to their duties. 😂

While our socials have been quiet, MHC certainly hasn’t been — and we have LOTS to catch you up on.

So… hello again! 👋💙

Please report any future unexplained social media disappearances immediately.

👋 Welcome Dr Dean Grimmond!

We’re very excited to welcome Dr Dean Grimmond, GP Registrar, to the Macquarie Health Collective team!

Originally from the small rural community of Hermidale, Dean has a strong connection to regional NSW and a genuine passion for providing high-quality healthcare to rural and regional communities.

Dean brings broad experience across General Medicine and Paediatrics, having trained and worked in both Western Australia and Dubbo. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in preventative health, paediatric medicine, chronic disease management and palliative care.

For Dean, general practice is also about getting to know his patients and their families, building long-term relationships and providing continuity of care throughout the different stages of life.

Dean is looking forward to building his career here in regional NSW and caring for patients across Dubbo and the surrounding districts.

💙 Dr Dean Grimmond is currently accepting new patients.

Appointments can be booked online or by calling our reception team on 6882 7113.

We’re thrilled to have you with us, Dean — welcome to the team! 💙

Some people leave a job. Others leave a legacy. ❤️

Today we say goodbye to Dr Jenny Geraghty as she begins her well-earned retirement after more than three decades of caring for the Dubbo community.

For so many families, Jenny has been far more than a GP. She has cared for generations, celebrated life’s happiest moments, provided comfort through its hardest, and been a constant source of compassion, wisdom and kindness.

Her dedication to her patients, colleagues and our community has left a legacy that simply can’t be measured. The impact she has had will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Jenny, thank you for your unwavering commitment, your exceptional care, and the genuine difference you’ve made to the lives of so many. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside you. While you will be deeply missed, we couldn’t be happier for you as you begin this exciting new chapter.

To our patients, if you didn’t get the opportunity to see Jenny before her retirement, we know many of you would have loved the chance to say goodbye. On behalf of Jenny and all of us at Macquarie Health Collective, thank you for placing your trust in her over the years. She has been truly honoured to be part of your healthcare journey.

And one thing is for certain... if retirement doesn’t keep her busy, we’re convinced she could open a florist! 💐 The incredible number of beautiful flowers, cards and heartfelt messages she has received this week are a true reflection of the love and appreciation our community has for her.

Please join us in thanking Dr Jenny Geraghty for her extraordinary contribution to our practice and our community, and in wishing her a long, happy and well-deserved retirement. 💙

Men are often told to be strong, push through, and keep going.

But real strength can also be recognising when things feel overwhelming and reaching out for support.

Stress, anxiety, burnout, low mood, sleep difficulties and feeling constantly “on edge” are all things worth talking about.

You don’t need to wait until you’re struggling to ask for help.

This Men’s Health Week, take a moment to check in with yourself—and remember, it’s okay to talk about it.

💙 Support is available, and you don’t have to face things alone.
