Hey, I’m Katherine,
My role: Physiotherapist for the WNSWLHD Specialised Menopause Service. I help women manage symptoms related to their pelvic floor, which may affect their bladder, bowel or intimate activities. These symptoms often appear during the menopause transition.
I also help women understand what optimal physical activity levels are to protect their bone health, muscle mass and strength, and work with each individual to develop a programme that works best for their experience, life situation and motivation.
I work alongside the Women’s Health nursing team to assess and treat women from all over the district, from Lightning Ridge to Cobar and Bathurst.
Tip: If you are experiencing leakage, pain or other bladder or bowel symptoms, seek help as soon as you can. Often, simple changes can significantly improve your symptoms, and symptoms are generally easier to treat when addressed early.
Fun fact: I love running, but I only really got into long-distance running after having my three children. I’m working my way up to marathon distance.
