It's practitioner-dispensed only, matched to your own constitution in consultation.

The Year of the Fire Horse

We’re roughly midway through the Year of the Fire Horse—a time of energy, growth, expansion, and big ideas. Exciting stuff. But all that Fire can also be exhausting.

When Fire is strong, it can deplete our Yin—the cooling, nourishing, restorative aspect of ourselves. And with no Earth element in this year’s Heavenly Stem or Earthly Branch—the element that centres and harmonises all the others—it’s easier to feel restless, anxious, and ungrounded.

The answer isn’t more Fire. It’s nourishment.

Take time for hot baths.
Lie in the sun.
Eat slow, nourishing meals.
Practise real self-care.
Make space for deep rest.

Nourish your Yin and let your body find its centre while the Fire does its work.

A SIMPLE TECHNIQUE FOR WORKING WITH PAIN

My top three for reducing pain:

1. QI GONG — particularly Dynamic Qi Gong. Something gentle that warms the body and activates Qi and Blood.

2. RESISTANCE TRAINING — 20 minutes, 3 times a week. Strength protects.

3. STRETCHING — ideally daily if you’re in pain, but only when the body is warm. That might mean after a bath, after exercise, or after a 20-minute walk (which is also ideal for reducing pain on its own).

THE TECHNIQUE - self paced

Bring your focus to your pain. Feel it. Go deep into it — its texture, its intensity. Let it be in the spotlight.

Now begin to expand it out…
to the size of a small ball,
a football,
your whole body,
the room you’re in,
your local area, your suburb,
your country, the globe, the universe…
out into the infinite void.

Rest there. Blend with the Original Qi.

When you’re ready, bring your awareness back to the Lower Dantian and nourish your Qi. Repeat as needed.

WHY THIS WORKS

When we become too self-identified with the body — as Eckhart Tolle points out — we are literally building neurological attachments to the area of pain. The more we attach to it, the more its power grows. Healing often arrives in the moments we’ve forgotten about the very thing we were so focused on.

Learning to live multidimensionally — as both a human body and a spiritual body — can be a powerful way of letting go. Living with expanded awareness gives the pain somewhere to dissolve into, rather than something to contract around.

A gentle note: I know pain is a sensitive topic, and everyone exists at a different stage of their healing journey. This isn’t a magic pill — just something that may be useful. Age, mobility and expectations will vary for each of us.

Expansion in 2026… 🔥❤️

this year the Fire element is calling us to our heart centre.

Every choice we make can be felt.

Align with your truth…You feel expansive — lighter, freer.

When you make choices that aren’t aligned to your truth you may feel a sense of contraction — heaviness tightness.

We can use our senses to tune into this feeling of expansion or contraction. Use this simple technique to support you in navigating your choices.

Leaving a job that no longer serves you — instant lightness.

Cancelling an overcommitment — expansion!

Saying yes to a date you don’t really want — the heaviness says it all!

Enjoy this simple technique ✊🏼❤️🙌

Five ways to support your lung qi this winter

In Chinese Medicine the lung is the commander of qi.

Although the metal element belongs to autumn, and winter belongs to water, this year I’ve seen an increase in lung concerns. It comes down to the astrology: 2026 is a Fire Horse year, with fire in both the heavenly stem and the earthly branch. In the five element cycle fire controls metal — and the lungs belong to metal — placing them under more pressure than usual. A few simple habits that may help:

1. **Keep moving.** Gentle exercise, and qi gong especially, is ideal over the colder months.

2. **Eat warm.** Soups, broths and warming teas. Ginger, warm water, a little licorice.

3. **Ease off cold and damp foods.** Ice cream, too much raw and chilled food, anything that cools the system down.

4. **Neti pot and gargle.** Warm water with a little salt, used regularly — the mucosal layer is one of the body’s first lines of defence, so keeping the nose and throat clear may help.

5. **Dress warm.** Cover the three gates: the neck, upper back and lower back, where cold tends to find its way in.

The Fire Horse can get us running, so remember to schedule rest and to ease the stress to support your immune system in this dynamic balance.
