Hormonal changes may affect asthma symptoms in some women — and changes shouldn’t simply be put up with.

If your breathing, night symptoms or reliever use have changed, arrange a review with your GP and ask us to check your inhaler technique.

We’re also thinking of those remembering a dad today, those with complicated relationships, and anyone who finds Father’s Day difficult.

☀️ The sun’s out — and sunmer feels like it’s arrived early!

But when it comes to protecting your skin, don’t judge UV by the temperature. UV radiation can still cause skin damage even when the day doesn’t feel particularly hot.

When the UV Index is 3 or above, remember the five S’s:

👕 Slip on protective clothing
🧴 Slop on SPF50 or SPF50+ sunscreen
👒 Slap on a broad-brimmed hat
🌳 Seek shade
🕶️ Slide on sunglasses

And remember — sunscreen needs to be applied generously and reapplied every 2 hours, or after swimming, sweating or towel drying.

📱 Check the UV Index before heading out and make sun protection part of your everyday routine.

💊 Antibiotics aren’t always the answer.

Antibiotics are designed to treat bacterial infections — they don’t work against viruses such as colds and flu.

Using antibiotics when they aren’t needed won’t help a viral infection and can contribute to antimicrobial resistance, making antibiotics less effective when we really need them.

If you’ve been prescribed antibiotics:
✓ Take them exactly as directed
✓ Don’t share them with others
✓ Don’t save leftovers for another illness
✓ Ask your pharmacist if you’re unsure about anything

Use antibiotics wisely. Help keep them working. ❤️
