2026 Circle L ABHA National Finals - I will be working on site at AELEC for one day only on Wednesday 9 September. I am a registered outdoor trader.

Hello! I've been a little quiet over the past 2 weeks as I've been on holidays, having fun, making memories and enjoying a well earned break.

Week 1 - Adelaide celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary, indulging in amazing food and wine and checking out the magnificent regions in Adelaide.

Week 2 - Sunshine Coast catching up with my friend of 52 years (yes mind blowing 🤯 we met at preschool 😂)

I'm back on deck tomorrow (1 Sept) working in Tamworth and surrounding regions for the rest of the week.

I can't wait to see everyone and getting back to doing what I love 💗

NOTES ON GRIEF: It's taken me a little while to decide if I would write this post or not.

A few of my clients have been faced with putting their horses to sleep recently and their experience has been overwhelming for them and their families. So I believe now is the right time to share what I have experienced over the past 17 months due to putting both of my horses (above) to sleep (Chance and Sunday) just 3 months apart....

Everyone experiences grief differently, there is no right or wrong way. Probably the most important thing I have learnt is that processing grief can't be hurried, it will take as long as it takes and that's ok. Here are a couple of other steps I have learnt along the way:

🐎 Time will not necessarily heal your pain.
🐎 Time enables acceptance to drift in and settle.
🐎 Acceptance can take on 2 forms. The first form is experiencing spouts of overwhelment from the loss of what you had, not just in the physical sense but from an emotional heart centred place. The second form are moments of quietness to reflect on where are you now and what's next.
🐎 Tears from sadness can turn to tears of joy if you allow it.
🐎 If you think you might need professional help to process your grief, then you probably do, so get some help. I did and it was worth every cent.

If this post can help one person, then it's done it's job. Just remember this.... the love for your horses will never vanish it just changes shape to what you are used to 🙏 🐴

SCENT TRAIL WORK - have you heard of it? This is a technique I have recently learnt by attending Yasmin Stuart's Clinic held in Southern Highlands in May. I'm adding this to my toolbox and am starting to include it as part of my bodywork sessions, where required.

WHY? Bodywork creates an opportunity for change. By adding scent trail work, it enables the horse's brain and body to learn to use the changes through a calm and purposeful movement puzzle.

These are just some of the horses I have been working with and it was fantastic to observe their movement. Such as moving to and from their midline, flexing round and shifting weight back through their spine and onto their hind quarters.

If your horse feels heavy in the forehand or stiff in the neck/back or is protective through one hind limb, than read on!

Here are just some of the benefits of Scent Trail Work:

🐎 Cervical Spine - encourages the neck to lengthen which gives more freedom through the base of the neck.

🐎 Thoracic Sling - supports lift of the ribcage and gives balance.

🐎 Pelvic Stabilisation and Hind Engagement - through purposeful and natural movement it supports better coordination.

Happy Sunday Everyone 🐎 These past 2 weeks have been jam packed with learning, work and play. I have travelled approx 2,400km during this time which is why you haven't heard from me 😁

Here is a snapshot of what I have been up to!

🐎 Attending a 2 day clinic in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW with UK Equine Physiotherapist, Yasmin Stuart.
🐎 3 day Hunter Valley trip working with just some of equine clients.
🏖 A quick couple of days of beach time for birthday celebrations.
🐎 A few days servicing some of my equine clients in Tamworth in preparation for upcoming competitions or post competition days.
🐎 2 day trip to the North West servicing the equine community in various locations.

So to say the least I've been busy and have loved every minute of it. I can't wait to share with you what I have learnt with Yasmin. I look forward to hearing how your horses are going 🐴 Have a great week 🙌 ♥️

They say a photo can say a thousand words.....this is one of these moments! Let me introduce you to one of my clients, Oscar and London 🐎

Behind every performance horse is a cycle of care that goes far beyond what you see in the arena or playing field. It's nutrition, training, farriery, veterinary support and of course BODYWORK!

I've said this before, bodywork is not a luxury. It's part of the responsibility you take on for your horse when you ask them to perform and give you their best. When you look closer at your horse, you'll start to see what they've been managing for you 😉

My work is not just about massaging tight muscles. I'm looking at how your horse moves and how it manages "force" through their whole body. Every step your horse takes creates a "force" for their body to absorb and redirect. If something isn't balanced that "force" will show up as tension somewhere else.
