Happy AT Friday! This week, OT Megan had a look at the Strutt ev¹c Powered Wheel Chair, an innovative mobility device designed to support greater independence, confidence and access in everyday environments. With smart technology, adaptable seating and features designed to assist with navigation and obstacle detection, it’s an exciting example of how assistive technology continues to evolve 😁

💛 R U OK? 💛

R U OK? Day is a reminder that a simple conversation could make a real difference in someone’s day. It’s about checking in with the people around us, not just when they seem to be struggling, but regularly. Sometimes all it takes is asking, “Are you OK?”, listening without judgement and reminding someone that they don’t have to face things alone.

This R U OK? Day, take a moment to reach out to a friend, family member, colleague or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply being there and showing that you care can mean more than you realise 💛

Happy Father’s Day!
Today we celebrate all the incredible people who nurture, support, guide and care for others in ways big and small. We recognise that “Father’s Day” can mean different things to different people. Whether you’re a dad, step-dad, foster dad, grandfather, carer, father figure, or someone who shows up with love and support every day, we see you and appreciate you 💙 We also hold space for those who may find today difficult, those missing loved ones, navigating loss, or walking a different path. However today looks for you, we’re sending kindness your way and wishing you a very happy Father’s Day!

Happy AT Friday! This week, Sara checks out the Franklin Sensors Magnetic iLevel. It’s a smart little spirit level that uses LED lights to show you when something is level, making it easier to see than a traditional bubble level. Sometimes AT doesn’t need to be fancy. It just needs to make a task easier and more accessible! Have a great weekend everyone 😊

Happy AT Friday! This week, OT Student Olivia is checking out the INVISA-BEAM Multi-Purpose Monitor! Using invisible beams to monitor the edge of a bed, it can alert a nurse or carer when a person attempts to leave the bed. It’s a great example of how assistive technology can support falls prevention, safety and independence without using physical restraints. Thanks Olivia for sharing this one with us! 👏

Happy AT Friday! This week, Chelsea presents the DEXT Ring Pull Can Opener! A simple little kitchen aid designed to make opening ring-pull cans easier for people who may have reduced grip strength, hand pain, arthritis or difficulty with fine motor skills. Instead of struggling to lift and pull the small tab with your fingers, the DEXT provides extra leverage and a larger handle, making the task easier and more comfortable. Have a great weekend everyone! ☺️
