πŸ’ͺ Exercise in neuro world is more than strength and fitness. We tap into neural pathways to make real change in people's lives.
πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈThe goal for this client was to be able to insert a cannula into an arm - hard to do when you can't control the movement!
β˜€οΈWe had to work out what her body responded to, then adapt this to real functional practice.

Fact - not a single member of my family understand what I do for a job.... and I'm guessing a fair few of you wouldn't either.
So let's unpack it together - on Wednesdays ☺️

1. Respiratory - for my clients who suffer from respiratory dysfunction I often do these things, and I do at least one of these things every day of the week.
- nebulisers for air humidification
- suction machines for clearing oral secretions
- cough assist machines when people no longer have the strength to cough themselves
- deep breathing and breathing control
- cupping and vibrations to move secretions from lungs towards airways

The past week has seen a lot of commentary around an announcement made by our health minister. I don't want to talk about that.

What I want to talk about is the fear that the commentary has instilled in my clients, particularly what they are reading on social media.

Every home I've walked into in the last week, Ive been met with clients and families who are scared and feel lost. Every. Single. House.

So tonight I would like to remind everyone that I do this job to help people, to watch people succeed, to help people gain independence or dignity. No matter what funding model we are delivered, that care will continue.

If the constant feed of speculation and opinion is draining your battery - turn it off, put it in another room, or Google some videos of cute dogs. But please know that I am a neuro physio, I don't know how to be anything else, and we will roll with punches when they come ✌️

Ps - I picked the audio purely for the title, could you tell? 🀣

Every element of our new brand has a story β€” starting with the colours.
Our logo has always been inspired by the gentle tones of a gum tree, but with this next chapter, we wanted our colours to reflect something bolder. Something braver. Something that mirrors the strength we see in our clients every day.
So instead of drawing from the bark, we turned to the vibrant colours of the gum flower and leaf β€” colours that stand out, push through, and shine even on the darkest days.
Just like our clients, the flower and leaf represent:
✨ Boldness
✨ Persistence
✨ Growth in all seasons
✨ The ability to flourish despite challenges
Our new look is brighter, braver, and more alive β€” because so are the people we support.
Welcome to the evolution of Flow Neuro Allied Therapy 🌸🌿
