One of the biggest misconceptions I hear in my consulting room is:
“If I’m intelligent, why can’t I just get myself together?”
The truth is, intelligence and emotional wellbeing are two very different things.
Many of the people I work with are highly capable. From the outside, they appear to have everything under control. Yet beneath the surface they may be living with anxiety, ADHD, chronic pain, perfectionism, burnout or depression.
Mental health difficulties are not a sign of weakness. They’re often the result of the complex interaction between our brain, life experiences and the pressures we carry every day.
You don’t have to wait until you’re in crisis to seek support. Sometimes therapy is simply about understanding yourself better and making life feel a little easier.
