A big thank you to NPSA for inviting the SA Branch and some of our members to visit the Pooraka Medicine Distribution Centre to see firsthand the operations for how medicines are packed, processed and distributed before reaching pharmacies across South Australia and Australia💊📦

It was fascinating to gain an insight into the scale and complexity of the medicine supply chain, and the work that goes on behind the scenes to help ensure pharmacies can access the medicines their patients need promptly wherever they are.

Last week we met with South Australia’s Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Hon. Blair Boyer, and talked about how community pharmacy can do more to help move the dial on community health; preventative healthcare, clinical advice and prescribing for acute and chronic conditions, social and emotional wellbeing, and palliative care.

Community pharmacy is an integral part of the solution to healthier communities.
