The very lovely Larissa is participating in Hair for Heart and doing a great thing for our community! If you can, show some support for Larissa who will be cutting her hair in October.

Variety grants wigs to kids who have lost their hair due to a medical condition, through their wig grant. It allows a child to be fitted for a specialised custom-made real hair, suction wig, that gives them increased confidence and self-esteem in their everyday lives.

I have been meaning, for some time now, to start sharing some of my rainy-day reads! I have an old favourite that I’ve started re-reading (this one is for the parents, grandparents, teachers or other significant caregivers in a little one’s life) and a few new ones that I think are brilliant, fun and just a bit adorable. The picture books span a wide audience - even my three year old enjoyed them 😊

Today was my last day before maternity leave! Thanks so much to everyone who supported Sunflower Psychology, and to my beautiful clients, I will miss seeing you all. I hate goodbyes, however I think the creaks and squeaks of my office chair are evidence enough that baby isn’t too far away, and it’s time for me to take a break. Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2021. I’ll be back in 2022 🙋🏻‍♀️

It’s been a long year so I figure it’s not too early to start the Christmas festivities. I wanted to wish all my clients and their families a very merry and joyful festive season. I’ve been very privileged to share in your journeys and am humbled by each and every one of you - your bravery, determination and hope for change inspires me.
I will be in the clinic until December 19th and will be back on Tuesday the 5th of January. But I will then be taking maternity leave from February the 9th. By that point I will probably be too physically uncomfortable to sit and give you my full attention! I am very happy to help with referral recommendations for next year while I’m on leave. So if you think this might be worth a discussion please come see me and make sure we have a plan in place for you before Feb!

Good news for psychology!

The APS is pleased to announce that the 2020 Federal Budget includes a doubling of the number of Medicare-funded psychology sessions for all Australians regardless of location, for an initial 2 year period.

This follows years of APS advocacy for recognition of the importance of access to psychological services. More to come.
