Social media has taken a bit of a back seat lately, but for good reason.

When we started Ground Up Support, we never expected word of mouth to be as strong as it has been. We’re incredibly grateful for the trust, recommendations and support we’ve received from our community.

To our existing clients and those who have recently joined us — thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives.

At the moment, we’re close to capacity for ongoing supports, however we’d still love to hear from you. Whether you’re looking for support now or in the near future, please reach out. We’re always happy to chat about upcoming availability, waitlists and future opportunities.

We also have some exciting plans for later this year and hope to expand our capacity to support even more people.

At Ground Up Support, we’ve been quietly doing what we do—showing up, building trust, and supporting people in ways that actually make a difference.

For those who are new here, we’re an independent, person-centred support service based on the Far South Coast. We work alongside individuals and families to provide consistent, hands-on support that focuses on real life—daily routines, community access, building confidence, and creating meaningful independence.

We keep things small on purpose. It allows us to stay present, flexible, and genuinely connected to the people we support.

As things shift and grow, we currently have some availability within our team.

Meet the Humans Behind Ground Up 🌱

Ground Up Support was created by Margie and Leigh — locals who believe the best support starts with genuine relationships.

Margie brings extensive experience in the disability sector and is passionate about providing truly client-centred support. She works closely with participants, families and allied health teams to ensure support is meaningful, consistent and built around each individual’s strengths and goals. Margie has a strong passion for supporting people with autism and intellectual disabilities, of all ages, helping people build confidence, independence and routines that work for them.

Leigh will also be providing support through Ground Up, working with both young people and older participants. He has a natural ability to connect with people and enjoys helping individuals grow their confidence through real life experiences. Leigh will be supporting employment mentoring, skill building and community participation, and for those who enjoy being active — getting outdoors, paddle boarding, exploring the coastline and going on small adventures.

Together, we created Ground Up to offer support that feels genuine, flexible and connected to the community we live in. We have big plans for 2026!

We currently have limited capacity to take on new participants. If you’d like to know more about the supports we offer, feel free to reach out to us.

Finding or returning to work can feel overwhelming without the right support. Our employment mentoring focuses on building confidence, practical skills, and clear pathways toward meaningful work.

We work alongside individuals to explore strengths, prepare for employment, and develop the skills needed to feel confident in workplace environments.
