Chronic pain is learned and it can be unlearned.
This National Pain Week, Innovate Pain Clinic is launching RELEASE — a structured 10 week pain retraining program developed over three decades of clinical practice in Edgecliff.
Most pain programs work on how you think about pain: education, coping, acceptance, pacing. RELEASE works on a different mechanism. Persistent pain is maintained by neuroplastic associative learning — the nervous system has learned an overprotective response to pain, position and context that no longer relates what's happening in the cells.
The RELEASE program targets that conditioning directly, pairing guided facilitation with embodied movement so the nervous system learns the new information, not just a new explanation.
It's delivered as a spoken, facilitated program — you're taken through it session by session, you need to be able to attend our rooms.
For the duration of National Pain Week we offer: bulk-billed sessions for eligible clients holding a valid Medicare referral, for bookings made before 31 July 2026. Eligibility criteria and terms apply — contact the clinic to confirm.
Suitability is determined at individual assessment. Individual responses vary.
