Brisbane South PHN is a not-for-profit organisation that works with primary health providers and our communities to improve the health of everyone in our region by creating a health system that is easier to navigate. Brisbane South PHN works with the primary health sector and provides support to health care providers, delivers workforce training and development, facilitates the implementation of digital health systems and commissions health services for vulnerable communities. The new Medicare Mental Health Check In service offers free online support to help people build practical skills and feel more confident day-to-day.

✅ The digital service delivers evidence-based, Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT) through online tools to guide people through life's challenges.

✅ People work through the tools independently and, if they need support, with guidance from a qualified mental health practitioner via telehealth.

Support is now available:

• Managing worries
• Reframing unhelpful thoughts
• Improving mood
• Facing fears
• Sleeping better
• Solving problems more effectively

The service is:

✅ Free for everyone living in Australia aged 16 and older
✅ No diagnosis or referral needed

👨‍⚕️Join the 2026 Paediatric Masterclass for General Practice — 20 free tickets available.

The annual Paediatric Masterclass for General Practice is the leading paediatric education event for general practitioners (GPs) and nurses in Queensland. The masterclass is a full-day seminar that brings medical experts, GPs and nurses together to explore current health issues affecting children.

Since 2022, Brisbane South PHN has supported Hepatitis Queensland to improve access to hepatitis C prevention, testing, treatment and care for people in community corrections. We look forward to strengthening this important work to create healthier communities and contribute to the elimination of hepatitis in Queensland.

This year's World Hepatitis Day theme, Take the Next Step, reminds us that every action towards improving awareness, testing, treatment and support, moves us closer to a future free from viral hepatitis.

Brisbane South PHN was proud to join the community at the NAIDOC Week Musgrave Park Family Fun Day, celebrating First Nations cultures, achievements and strengthening relationships.

The event provided an opportunity to connect with community members, listen, learn and share information about our health and wellbeing initiatives. It also highlighted the importance of working in partnership with First Nations peoples to improve health outcomes and experiences of care.

As an organisation, we remain committed to advancing health equity by supporting culturally safe healthcare, strengthening relationships with First Nations communities, and continuing to embed First Nations perspectives across our work.

Lived-living experience refers to the personal knowledge and insights gained through experiencing mental health challenges, suicidality, or alcohol and other drug use, either in the past (lived experience) or currently (living experience).

📢 Community Grants Now Open – Mental Health & Su***de Prevention

Applications are now open for community grants supporting mental health and su***de prevention initiatives across Queensland.

Delivered in partnership with Brisbane South PHN and the AMA Queensland Foundation, eligible organisations can apply for up to $20,000 to support programs that:
✔️ Improve access to mental health support
✔️ Build community awareness and reduce stigma
✔️ Strengthen local services and capacity
✔️ Promote wellbeing and help-seeking pathways

This is a great opportunity for community-led, culturally relevant initiatives that make a real difference locally.
