Six weeks. On purpose.

Tomorrow we wrap up our current module, take a little break, and then begin again on 1 September.

Most of my regular crew are returning (🥹) but I’ve got room for a few new humans too.

If you’ve been wondering why I teach this way, this is probably the best explanation I can give you. ❤️

Next six weeks begin 1 September
Tue + Thu · 6.30pm

Details via my website, or send me a message if you’d like to talk it through.

If you’ve been quietly watching my classes from over there for a while… 👀

I should probably tell you something.

You do not need to get better at yoga before you come here.

You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need to know what the poses are called. You don’t need the right clothes.

And you definitely don’t need to wait until you feel confident enough to walk through the door.

Most new people don’t. 😂

I think one of the things I’m proudest of about this little studio is how quickly that feeling seems to disappear.

We’re a small bunch. Mostly midlife women, a few very excellent blokes, a mixture of bodies and abilities, and nobody is particularly interested in what anyone else can or can’t do.

We wobble. We learn. We repeat things. We occasionally look at me like I’ve completely lost my mind. We laugh a lot.

And slowly, over six weeks, things that seemed completely baffling at the beginning start to make a little more sense.

That’s why I teach in modules.

Not because I want yoga to become another commitment hanging over your head, but because I want enough time to actually teach you.

Our next six weeks begin 1 September.

I teach just two classes — Tuesday + Thursday at 6.30pm — and most of my current crew are coming back, so there are only a handful of places available.

If you’ve been thinking maybe one day…

Maybe this is your day. ❤️

Details are on my website, or just send me a message. I’m very happy to help you work out whether this is actually right for you.

I didn’t grab a single photo once everyone arrived last night.

Because once I’m in, I’m fully immersed.

Eight women found their way into this room. Some I’ve known for years, some I hadn’t seen in far too long, and a couple I’d never met before.

We moved slowly. Drank cacao. Ate a frankly ridiculous amount of chocolate. Talked. Laughed. And somehow the right people ended up here at exactly the right time.

A few people asked when I’m doing another one.

Not yet. 😂

I’ve got some rather intense study I promised myself I’d finish first. 🫠

But bloody hell, I love these nights. ❤️

I’ve always thought of my yoga practice as a bit of a laboratory.

A place to listen, experiment, get curious and pay attention.

Somehow, over the last couple of years, I stopped spending time there.

It feels really good to be back.

If this little reflection resonates with you, I’d love to hear what you’ve found yourself returning to lately. 🤍

Some Friday nights call for dinner out.

Some call for pyjamas on the couch.

And every now and then… they call for this.

A warm studio. Soft lighting. Gentle movement. Ceremonial cacao. Ridiculously good chocolate. Blankets everywhere. And a couple of hours where nobody needs anything from you.

Our next Friday Night Cosy Club is on Friday 24 July, and I’d absolutely love to welcome a few more women into the room.

If you’ve been craving a quieter kind of Friday night… maybe this is your sign.

The people who walk through my studio doors are rarely here to become “better at yoga”.

They’re here because there’s something else in their life they care deeply about.

— Someone wants to keep surfing for as long as they possibly can.

— Someone wants to get down on the floor and play with their grandchildren.

— Someone needs one hour each week that’s just for them after becoming a mum.

— Someone is learning to trust their body again after surgery or injury.

— Someone simply wants to feel strong, calm and capable as they move through midlife.

Yoga just happens to be the vehicle.

That’s why I spend so much time getting to know new students before they arrive.

Not because I’m trying to decide whether they’re “good enough.”

I’m trying to understand what brought them here.

Because that tells me far more than whether they can touch their toes.

My regular classes are progressive vinyasa classes. They’re designed to challenge you, to ask you to learn, and yes… sometimes they feel a little awkward at first.

But I don’t expect everyone to do every posture.

In fact, one of the most important things I hope people learn here is that they don’t have to.

A huge part of yoga is learning to work with the body you have today—not the one you had twenty years ago, or the one you wish you had.

I honestly don’t mind if someone never does a complex pose or an arm balance.

I care far more that six weeks later they’re moving with more confidence, feeling more at home in their own body, and living their life a little more fully because they kept showing up.

Maybe that’s what yoga has become for me, too.

A wee walkthrough of the studio on this rather damp, rainy Sunday eve.

The space might be quiet at the moment, but we begin again very soon.

Our next 6-week module starts Tuesday 7 July, and I’m just finalising the numbers now.

At this stage it looks like there may be one or two mats available across the week, which feels about right for this space.

Small enough that people aren’t lost in the room, but full enough that it has a lovely, steady energy 😊

Small groups, breath-led yoga, plenty of care, and plenty of permission to be a real person in a real body.

You do not need to arrive flexible, calm, fit, confident, or looking like you belong in a yoga catalogue 😂

If you feel that way, please don’t.

Just come as you are.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, you’re very welcome to send me a message or book via the website.

We begin again Tuesday 7 July.

The studio is verrrrry quiet this week.

The mats are stacked away, the floor is about to be cleaned, and I’m using this little winter break to get back on my own mat before everyone comes back.

I keep coming back to that word actually — return.

That’s what this next module feels like to me.

Coming back to your body after a busy, messy, full season of life.

Coming back to the bit of yourself that gets buried under work, family, hormones, endless errands, appointments, dinner, washing, worrying, and whatever else the week throws at you.

I don’t think most of us need a dramatic fresh start.

I think we need somewhere steady to land.

Somewhere we can move, breathe, soften, strengthen, laugh a little, be quiet for a while, and remember that we’re still here.

That’s the heart of these six-week modules.

Small, in-person classes.

Intelligent, breath-led yoga.

Real people, real bodies, and absolutely no need to be impressive.

Module 4 begins Tuesday 7 July here in little ol’ Eimeo Mackay 😁

If you’ve been meaning to come back to your mat, I’d love you to join us.
