A wonderful evening from Meaningful Ageing Australia launching the Heart Model - Leading Care with the Heart. Super Speakers including the incredible Viv Allanson OAM.
This model resonates with both Dance 4 Wellbeing programs and our collective Sound Moves 55+ approach in delivery of tailored dance for older adults. Always leading with a relational and heart led approach across all engagement in community, care, health and virtual settings.
This forms a large part and foundation of the health and wellbeing benefits dance can offer.
The Heart Model provides guidelines and strategies to implement to be able to measure whether an organisation/ group or practitioner is delivering or can develop further this model.
Let's get to the heart of it...how do you want to be cared for?

Dance4wellbeing is celebrating 10 years of Dance for Parkinson's practice! Huge thanks go to the Newcastle Parkinsons support group, the original Dance4wellbeing team (pictured), the incredible participants and families/carers, and our wonderful support network- Dance for Parkinson's Australia and Dance for PD ®.
With our pilot program starting in Newcastle to great success and, over the years, growing practice to support and help develop regional and metropolitan programs such as Maitland, Coffs Harbour, Mosman and Young, NSW.
Our original program still runs under Joyful Moves with Stacey Carter in Charlestown, and Jess continues to grow with the national team online to support those who cannot attend in person.
As co-director of Dance for Parkinson's Australia for a few years, it has been an absolute pleasure to support such important work!
Happy 10th Anniversary of wonderful dance practice, building relationships and collaboration with all involved!
BRAVO!
