Falls prevention is everyone’s responsibility.

Sir Stephen Fry (comedian, actor, writer, and presenter) recently shared details of a serious fall that caused multiple broken bones and other injuries (https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2026/apr/29/stephen-fry-sues-tech-conference-organisers-for-100000-over-fall-from-stage).

His story is a reminder that falls can happen to anyone, and that preventing falls is everyone’s business.

Creating safer environments benefits people of all ages. Clearly marked fall and trip hazards, good lighting, safe walkways, clear edges, handrails, and thoughtful event and workplace design all play a key role in reducing falls risk.

Falls prevention isn’t just about older people, it’s about creating safer environments for everyone.
