It Started With Small Wet Patches…
If you saw Sandy today, you’d think she was doing really well for a 12-year-old dog.
She walks comfortably, no wobbliness, still enjoys her day, and from the outside… she looks “fine”.
But her mum knew her better than that.
Sandy had started to change in subtle ways. She became quieter than usual, a little less engaged, and then came the small but unusual sign — occasional wet patches around the house.
Incontinence like this is often brushed off as “just old age”… especially when everything else looks normal.
But her mum had that gut feeling something wasn’t right.
After assessment, it became clear there was an underlying issue contributing to her bladder control changes. With targeted treatment and supportive care, Sandy responded really quickly.
Within a short period of time, her incontinence improved, and we continued with a few follow-up sessions to help her recover.
Today, Sandy is back to her normal self — happy, settled, and enjoying life with her sisters again… no nappies, no accidents, just her.
Her story is a reminder that incontinence in senior dogs isn’t always just “ageing”.
Sometimes it’s one of the earliest signs that something deeper is going on — and the earlier we support them, the better the outcomes tend to be.
If your senior dog is starting to show small changes like this, trust what you’re noticing. You know them better than anyone.
Supporting them early can make a real difference to their comfort, confidence, and quality of life as they age. ❤️🐾
