I didn't get a chance to take any photos during the event, but I had a beautiful gathering for my mini Winter Solstice event.
Some of the participants hadn't experienced my Energy Clearing before, but they all seemed to leave feeling clearer, very relaxed (also from the Moxa!), and hopefully ready for their next steps, having nourished their Kidney energy & cleared their fears ✨️🙏

A Winter Solstice Afternoon
Moxa & Energy Clearing
Join me for a small intimate gathering designed to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and support immunity this Winter.

Together we'll explore gentle Energy Clearing practices, guided relaxation, Japanese moxa rituals, and deep rest.

In East Asian medicine, Winter is a season of restoration - a time to conserve energy, warm the body, and nourish ourselves more deeply.

We will begin with a sharing of ancient wisdom about what the season of Winter means from a Chinese Medicine perspective. This will lead into a guided Energy Clearing process designed to help release tension and reconnect inwardly.

Using gentle self-moxa techniques, we'll then work to warm and balance the body, support immunity, settle the nervous system, and restore energy during the colder months.

If you've been curious about Energy Clearing, or about some of the deeper work I share in my Retreats and individual sessions, this afternoon gathering is a gentle and accessible place to begin, as well as an opportunity to enjoy some Moxa magic!

No experience necessary.

Family time
I come from a big family! My mum was one of 10, and I'm one of 5.
So when my mum's family, the Gibsons, get together, there's always a lot of us - & always a lot of laughter!
Unfortunately these days, it's more often funerals that bring us all together.
And so it was that a whole bunch of us descended upon Hobart over the last 2 days to celebrate the life of our much-loved & now missed aunt Pauline Gibson.
The funny thing is that she wasn't even a Gibson by birth.
But if was a testament to her beautiful nature that she drew us all there for this sad yet affirming occasion.
And it was such a great excuse to catch up with relatives from all across the country, some of whom hadn't seen each other in 30 or 40 years, as well as see a bit of beautuful Hobart!

This photo was taken a few years ago, but with today being my birthday, I thought I’d introduce myself to those who are new here.

I’ve been an acupuncturist for almost 25 years, practising mostly traditional Japanese Acupuncture & Moxibustion.

I’m passionate about helping people live better, healthier lives — physically, emotionally, and energetically — and I still genuinely love what I do every day (which is why I worked today, even on my birthday!).

Alongside acupuncture, I also help clients clear deeper emotional blocks through Energy Clearing sessions.

Over the years, my love of Moxa has earned me the nickname “The Moxa Queen” amongst colleagues, and what began as sourcing quality Moxa for myself and a few practitioners has grown into House of Moxa — now supplying practitioners across Australia and beyond.

These days, I also run Moxa Workshops, Japan Moxa Tours, and wellness retreats, creating spaces for both practitioners and clients to experience deeper healing, connection, and restoration — which has become another beautiful part of this journey.

I’m so grateful to continue serving this community, both in clinic and through House of Moxa 🤍

We’ll cover the fundamental Moxa techniques used in Japanese Acupuncture, including:

As well as the only place you’ll learn the Okuma-Sensei Pelvic Adjustment Method.
