🌟 FINAL SPOTS AVAILABLE in The Brave Space, a 4-week program for anxious little ones 🌟

Big worries before school. Tears or tummy aches before something new. Meltdowns that seem to come out of nowhere. If this sounds familiar, you'll know how hard it can be to watch your child struggle, and how helpless it can feel as a parent, wanting to make it better but not always knowing how.

You're not alone, and we'd love to help.

The Brave Space is a small-group program designed especially for primary-school aged children who experience anxiety. Over four weeks, your child will learn simple, practical tools to understand their worries, build confidence, and feel braver in everyday life, all in a warm, supportive space alongside other kids who just get it.

📅 Starting Monday 10 August
⏰ 4:00pm – 5:00pm, for 4 weeks

Spots are limited, so if this sounds like something your family could use, we'd love to welcome you.

Find out more and enrol here: https://www.thestillspace.com.au/therapyprogramsforchildren

If your child has NDIS funding and is either plan or self-managed these sessions may be fully covered.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected] We're always happy to chat about whether this program is the right fit for your child. 💛

Helping children make sense of big feelings through creativity and play. Our child-centred anxiety, play, and art therapy programs delivered in Engadine, Sutherland Shire, provide a nurturing space for kids to explore emotions, reduce stress, and process trauma safely.

Everyone stopped asking how you were around week six.

That's usually when it starts. The meals stop coming, the messages thin out, people go back to their own lives and you're standing in a kitchen at 4pm holding a mug, undone by nothing in particular.

Losing a parent is the loss we hear about most at The Still Space. Not because it's the hardest, grief doesn't rank, but because so many people carry it while carrying everything else. The school run. The job. The siblings who aren't coping. The children who need an explanation you don't have.

It doesn't move in a line. It comes in waves that arrive closer together, not further apart. It shows up at work more often than at home. It lands hardest on ordinary Tuesdays and leaves you fine on the anniversary you'd braced for.

And sometimes it starts before they've gone, the strange, unspeakable grief of sitting beside someone who is still here.

There's no version of this you're doing wrong.

If you're in it, there's a chair here for you. No timeline, no tidying it up, no need to be further along than you are.

The Still Space is a soft place to land during life's hardest seasons.

Your grief is welcome here.

With care,
Sammy and The Still Space Team ♥️

Being heard and believed can be profoundly healing.

It won't take away the pain. But it can be the start of healing.

I have sat with many people who have experienced trauma, and there is a moment that changes something in them, the moment they realise they are truly seen. Heard. Believed. That their pain won't be minimised for someone else's comfort. To finally have a space where the depth of their experience can be witnessed by someone who won't shy away.

Because for so long, so many carry what happened to them alone, unheard, doubted.

What I offer my clients is that space. To know, without question, what happened to you mattered. You matter.

With care,
Sammy ♥️

This week's burning question: "Why do I freeze when I know I'm safe?"

The first thing to understand about trauma is that it's a physical experience. An overwhelming experience for the body, then the mind. Trauma is stored in the cells of your body, not in logic. So you can know you're safe, and your nervous system still won't have gotten the memo.

When we experience the freeze response, part of recovery is teaching the body it's capable of mobilising again. Not in the moment, but afterwards, as part of healing. Yoga, boxing, vigorous walking, these are some ways to retrain the nervous system to trust that movement is possible again.

That capacity to mobilise is often exactly what gets taken from you in a freeze response. Rebuilding it matters.

Mobilisation alone won't heal trauma. But it can be a powerful part of guiding your nervous system out of an unconscious freeze.

The Still Space difference. 🫶

Therapy, done differently.

Not a cold clinic.
Not a number on a waitlist.
Not a rushed 50 minutes between appointments.

A place that feels like a second home. Warm, nurturing, and human.

The right environment for healing. For clarity. For real progress. For support that doesn't run out when the session ends.

Because how you feel in the room matters just as much as the work you do in it.

This is The Still Space and we can't wait to welcome you.

With care,
Sammy and The Still Space Team ♥️

Welcome back to The Still Space Sessions ♥️

This weeks burning 🔥 question is, "can grief change who you are? I feel like I don't know myself anymore"

The answer is, yes. In fact, it most likely will.

We all have our own experience of grief but what I can share as a Trauma and Grief Counsellor who has sat with many people grieving is this 👇

Grief can have us questioning of our identity, mortality, past relationships, our goals and vision for the future, decisions and experiences. It asks us to sit with the most tender parts of who we are. When we sit with those parts, it's completely natural and normal that we question the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Grief can come in many forms but what is universal is an ongoing process of rediscovering who we are as we navigate and move through this deeply painful, human experience.

With care,
Sammy ♥️

We all have a little more brave in us. Sometimes we just need the right support to access it. ✨️

If your child experiences anxiety, has big emotions, and finds it hard to regulate, our anxiety program for primary-school aged children may be just what they need.

As parents and practitioners, we understand the toll anxiety can take on a child's confidence and their sense of ease and belonging in the world.

Over 4 weeks, your child will learn age-appropriate coping strategies so they feel more confident, calm, and in control. Skills they can carry with them well beyond the program.

Ready to help your child find their brave?

The Brave Space: Anxiety Program
Starting Monday 10 August at 4:00PM
Run by our Child and Youth Counsellor, Melissa 🫶

Enrol now, places are limited each intake to keep the group small and supportive.

With care,
Sammy and Melissa ♥️
