* Winter Listening - Revisiting: I'm Glad I'm Me - A Podcast with Author James Nicholson, Dr Lyn Worsley & Leigh Hatcher *

What if the secret to raising happy, resilient kids fit inside a picture book about a boy who wishes he were a cat? Or a bird? Or pretty much anything but himself?

That is at the heart of ‘I’m Glad I’m Me’, the new children’s book from author James Nicholson — and the subject of our latest conversation in The Resilience Centre Podcast.

Host Leigh Hatcher sits down with James and Clinical Psychologist and resilience expert Dr Lyn Worsley to unpack a story that sounds simple but lands hard: a little boy tries on one animal after another, chasing the feeling that someone else’s life must be better, until he finally discovers he’s glad to just be himself. It’s a message for kids, sure.

But in an age where social media is engineered to make everyone else look cooler, happier and more perfect than we feel, none of us are immune to the comparison trap.

This one is for the grown-ups too:

Belinda and Neil were thrilled to attend the annual School Leaders Breakfast Expo early this morning at Macquarie Hospital, with over 80 staff, in a range of positions, from a variety of schools, across the local Northern Sydney area.

We were lucky to connect with a lot of staff schools around the themes of resilience and research, with an opportunity to promote our services and continue to learn about the needs of staff in schools, when it comes to building the resilience of students, and schools as a whole.

Thank You to the School Link Team for having us again and we are already looking forward to being a part of the experience next year again, it is such a need to keep connected with schools for Health and Education to keep working together always.
