She spent her life putting her considerable power behind women and girls, starting with the sisters she helped raise and continuing to move through the wild that way, no matter how rich or famous she became.

‘9 to 5’ gave a global voice to women dealing with unequal pay, harassment and workplaces designed by and for men.

She fought for ownership of her own work, built businesses on her own terms, backed female-led stories and showed generations of women what financial independence could look like.

Then she put the money to work.

HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS (literally) of free books for children through the Imagination Library (Dolly’s book gifting library). Education funding and scholarships. Full tuition for Dollywood employees. Millions invested in healthcare and medical research.

Dolly never needed to package any of this as empowerment. She created access, opportunity and independence, then she got on with it. For a consummate performer, she was anything but performative.

A kind, wise and formidable woman, hiding in plain sight behind the rhinestones, big hair and seriously funny one-liners.

This is one of those days where I’ll never forget where I was when I heard.

You’ll be sorely missed, Dolly. What a legacy. 🤍

You know how people sometimes ask, “what would you say to your younger self if you could go back in time?”

Hands down, I’d tell her this.

All women (or at least most women) come to this conclusion eventually but imagine the power a young woman would gain by learning and really knowing this at 20, 25, 30…. She’d be unstoppable.

Her period didn’t even enter the ‘am I training tonight?’ chat. The freezing Tuesday night made a stronger case. But still, she showed.

This is Tori, putting in the work with her WPL team at Umina United Football Club. Just a player, her team and the Tuesday-night grind on a night made for excuses.

This is where strength becomes leadership and standards become habits. In the reps, the mistakes, the laughs and the decision to show up again.

Don’t let your cycle decide whether you train, play or stay home. Eltee Sydney makes performance periodwear that came to play:
☁️ Keep you comfortable
🔒 Keep you protected
⚽ Keep up with you, however you move

We were invited to join Umina United as its 'Her Game. Her Way' Female Football Legacy Partner. Working with a club that’s laser-focused on keeping more women and girls in the game? Now, *that's* our kind of partnership.

The Central Coast Mariners women will play next season. 🤸‍♀️🙌 ⚽️💕 (That sentence shouldn’t feel like a victory, but after all the uncertainty, it REALLY does.)

Holman Barnes Group (HBG) will operate the A-League Women team. It owns 90 per cent of the Wests Tigers and holds an equity stake in APIA Leichhardt, building on a long involvement in community and women’s football.

The final agreement and regulatory checks are still to come. Then comes the hard part: assembling a squad, appointing staff and building a competitive program before the season starts on 17 Oct.

Our pledge:

⚽ Turn up to (more) matches
👕 Buy (more) merch
📣 Share fixtures and player stories
🎟️ Bring friends, family and the broader Eltee Sydney Coastie community (stay tuned for free ticket offers and more!)

Women’s sport needs investment. IT ALSO NEEDS A PAYING AUDIENCE SO IT CAN EARN MONEY!!!!

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s nearly gone and, BOY, did Coasties get a scare.

So, who’s joining us next season to cheer our women on loud and proud!?

Tuesday has no interest in easing us into the evening.

The bowls begin at 5.30pm, the weightlifting programme starts at 6.30pm with two Australian women due across the medal sessions, then athletics and swimming take over. Eve Bryson is one win from a boxing medal. The headline act is waiting after dark: Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson in the high jump final, the women’s 100m showdown, Lani Pallister in the 800m, and apparatus finals with three Australian gymnasts.

Then, at 4am, the Diamonds (go, Kip!) face Malawi, followed by an Australian wheelchair 3x3 quarterfinal at 5.30am. Sleep remains available. It’s just not being actively encouraged.

Also in the slides: why Mollie O’Callaghan is missing from the 50m backstroke watch, and how she turned a late scratching into relay gold anyway.

All times are AEST. Watch live and free on 7 + 7plus.

Save the guide, share it with the group chat, and send it to the person who says they’d watch more women’s sport if they knew when it was on.

Eltee Sydney’s Watch Her Go: The Green & Gold Watch is back for Day 4.

Over the next few days, we’ll keep breaking down what’s on, when it starts and which Australians to watch, sport by sport.

Tonight, athletics enters the chat at 7pm. Swimming follows at 7.30pm, Australia’s wheelchair 3x3 women face Canada, Georgia Godwin, Kate McDonald and Ruby Pass hit the apparatus finals, and Dawn Hayman and Kelsey Cottrell have a must-win bowls match at 11.45pm.

Then come the 3.30am athletics finals and 4am swimming finals. Questionable bedtime decisions remain firmly on the program.

📺 Live and free on 7 + 7plus. All times AEST.

Save this as your TV guide, but better, and send it to the person who says they’d watch more women’s sport if they knew when it was on.
