Last week, I had a beautiful conversation with a client about the coping strategies we create as children.

As children, we do the very best we can with the tools we have. We build little ways of protecting ourselves, making sense of the world, and feeling safe. At the time, those strategies are exactly what we need.

But life moves on… and we grow.

The problem is that many of those protective patterns come with us into adulthood. They become so familiar that we mistake them for who we are. They quietly influence our thoughts, our relationships, our reactions, and the stories we tell ourselves, even though they may no longer serve us.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about gently recognising what no longer belongs, thanking it for getting you this far, and having the courage to let it go.

Each time you release an old pattern, a limiting belief, or a version of yourself you’ve outgrown, you make space for something far more beautiful…

You.

The real you.

The one who was there all along, waiting beneath the layers of protection.

And perhaps that’s what self-love really is, not becoming more, but remembering who you’ve always been.

Did you know you can use your doTERRA essential oils in your cooking ( where applicable) ?

Here is a great, simple recipe that only takes a few mins to prepare:

1 x whole chicken.
4 tablespoons olive oil.
4 drops of doterra lemon essential oil.
4 drops Thyme essential oil.
1 toothpick swirl of doterra oregano essential oil. ( ask me if you don’t know this method)
Salt and pepper to taste.
1 lemon sliced.
1 onion sliced.

Preheat oven to 180 c.
Mix the oils, salt and pepper together in a bowl.
Place lemon and onion slices in the bottom of a roasting tray and place chicken ontop, breast side down.
Brush over the oil mixture.
Roast for about an hour or until juices run clear. ( ask me if your unsure how to check this)
Rest for 10 mins before slicing.
Serve with your favourite vegetables or salad.
Enjoy.

I woke up this morning and realised I’d slept for almost 11 hours.

Eleven.

I actually laughed when I looked at the clock.

Now, I’ve had busy weekends before. Plenty of them. So I don’t think it was just that I was tired.

I think it’s been something much simpler.

For the past little while, I’ve been quietly coming back to the basics.

Each night, I’ve been taking the time to slow down instead of pushing through “just one more thing”. I’ve been using my little bedtime ritual with Lavender Peace, Vetiver and Balance, taking my Lifelong Vitality consistently, and trying to be kinder to my body instead of expecting it to keep running on empty.

And something is shifting.

I’m not getting that heavy 3 o’clock slump nearly as much. My energy feels steadier. My mood feels lighter. I don’t feel like I’m dragging myself through the day.

Is it one thing?

I honestly don’t think so.

I think our bodies love consistency more than they love perfection.

It’s rarely one magic pill, one supplement or one oil. It’s the gentle rituals. The little choices. The things we do over and over again that slowly remind our bodies they’re safe, nourished and cared for.

At nearly 60, I’m still learning. Still experimenting. Still listening to what my body is trying to tell me.

And maybe that’s what wellness really looks like.

Not having all the answers.

Just paying attention.

I’d love to know… what’s one small ritual that’s made a difference in your life lately? And if you want info on what I’m doing drop me a zzzzzz.

📚 Holiday book recommendations needed! ☀️🌴

I’m about to head off on holidays, and for once… I am officially banning myself from reading business books, self-help books, mindset books, “how to build a six-figure empire”, “how to unf*ck your life”, CEO books, wealth books, or anything that makes me feel like I should be taking notes! 😂

I want to switch my brain off.

I’m looking for books that I can lose myself in while lying by the pool. Stories where you can almost see the scenery, feel like you know the characters, and happily disappear into another world for a few hours.

I don’t want anything too heavy or traumatising—no Holocaust stories, POW stories, heartbreaking tragedies, or books that will leave me emotionally wrecked for the rest of the day.

I’m thinking…
✨ Beautiful storytelling
✨ Characters you fall in love with
✨ Maybe based on true events (but doesn’t have to be)
✨ A little mystery, a little romance, a little adventure… I’m open!
✨ Something engaging without having to think too hard.

Basically, I’m after books that are like a holiday for my brain. 🌺📖

Hit me with your absolute favourites! Which book kept you turning the pages but still left you feeling happy when you closed the cover?

I’m all ears! 👇💕

My birth year meaning is spot on.
Every single thing!!!! It is freaky it’s so accurate .

The Number 6 is the vibration of the nurturer, healer, and harmonizer. It is deeply connected to love, responsibility, compassion, and a strong sense of duty to others.

🌱 Core Themes of the Number 6:

• Service & Caregiving: You may naturally feel responsible for others’ well-being — emotionally, physically, or even spiritually. You might be drawn to caregiving, counseling, teaching, or healing professions.
• Family & Home: Deeply rooted in family and domestic harmony. Creating a safe, warm, and beautiful home space may be vital to you.
• Responsibility & Loyalty: You may take on responsibilities early in life — often the “rock” for others. There is a strong sense of commitment, justice, and doing the “right thing.”
• Beauty & Harmony: You likely appreciate aesthetics, balance, and may have a gift for design, art, or creating peace in your surroundings.
• Emotional Depth: While loving and kind, you may struggle with boundaries — giving too much, or rescuing others at the expense of your own needs.

🔮 Spiritual and Energetic Meaning:

• You are here to heal, nurture, and uplift others.
• Your soul’s mission often includes creating safe containers for love, growth, and service.
• Challenges might include learning not to over-give, to set healthy boundaries, and to care for yourself as deeply as you care for others.

As the seasons change, our respiratory system often needs a little extra support. 🍃

One of my favourite blends is doTERRA Easy Air® . This refreshing blend combines Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca (Tea Tree), Lemon, Ravensara, Cardamom and Ravintsara essential oils to create a cooling, invigorating aroma that helps promote the feeling of clear, easy breathing.

Diffuse Easy Air throughout your home to:
✨ Support a feeling of open, comfortable airways
✨ Create a fresh, clean environment
✨ Encourage deep, refreshing breaths
✨ Promote restful sleep, especially during seasonal changes

I also love diluting Easy Air with a carrier oil and applying it to the chest, back and soles of the feet. It has become our family’s natural go-to whenever we want a comforting respiratory support blend.

Before we knew better, many of us reached for petroleum-based Vicks Vapour rub during winter. These days, I much prefer using a plant-powered alternative that’s made with pure essential oils and without petroleum-based ingredients.

Easy Air is definitely one of those oils I never like to be without during the cooler months. 💙🌿

Self care, self respect, self love.

How do you show up for yourself?

Are you a people pleaser?

Do you do everything you can for others and then feel depleted?

Do you often find yourself in the situation where you do and give so much to support someone and then when they don’t give you the same level of support back you feel hurt and resentful?

Self care and self love is all about you setting your own boundaries and loving yourself as you would others, only first.

Lots of people will drop off the radar once you start to do this and that’s ok, because they are not on your energetic level anymore. Setting personal boundaries around what you will and won’t accept is a good start.

What behaviours and patterns are you accepting from others that are disrespectful to you? Think about it, you know it’s there. Don’t make excuses for others. Don’t put yourself down for them.

Bergamot – sunshine in a bottle. ☀️🍋

Have you ever wondered why a warm cup of Earl Grey tea feels so comforting?

The distinctive flavour of Earl Grey comes from bergamot—a fragrant citrus fruit whose peel gives the tea its unmistakable aroma. It’s been enjoyed for generations, not only for its delicious taste, but for the sense of calm and comfort it brings.

Bergamot essential oil is one of my favourite oils for supporting emotional wellbeing. Often associated with the solar plexus, it’s a beautiful oil to reach for when you’re feeling overwhelmed, lacking confidence, or simply needing to reconnect with your own inner light. It encourages self-acceptance, self-worth and a lighter perspective.

One of the lovely ways to enjoy CPTG® Bergamot essential oil is to add one drop to a cup of herbal tea (only if you’re using an essential oil that is specifically labelled as safe for internal use, that would be Doterra. ). It adds a fresh citrus note while creating a beautiful mindful ritual.

Research suggests that simply inhaling bergamot’s aroma can help promote relaxation, reduce feelings of stress and support a healthy nervous system response. When consumed as part of a tea ritual, the warmth, aroma and flavour together can create a calming sensory experience that many people find soothing.

Whether you diffuse it, inhale it from your palms, add it to herbal tea, or simply pause to enjoy its uplifting aroma, bergamot is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest rituals can have the biggest impact on how we feel.

What’s your favourite way to enjoy bergamot? 💛
