Boredom.
What if boredom isn’t a problem to solve...
What if it’s an invitation to meet yourself?

We spend so much of our lives chasing the next goal, the next notification, the next distraction. But when everything becomes quiet, many of us feel uncomfortable. We call that boredom.

Perhaps what we’re really feeling is the unfamiliar experience of simply being present with ourselves.
When we stop running and gather the scattered pieces of our attention, boredom can transform into clarity, creativity and peace.

Have you ever said, “Meditation isn’t for me. My mind is too busy. I can’t sit still.”?

You’re not alone. And the truth is—you don’t have to force yourself to meditate.

In the yogic tradition, meditation is something we prepare for.

When the body is restless and the mind is racing, it’s often a sign of excess energy that needs somewhere to go. That’s why yoga comes before meditation.

✨The 8 Limbs of Yoga begin with Yamas and Niyamas - moral principles of how to interact with the world and with yourself.

✨ Movement (Asana) helps release excess energy and prepares the body to become still.

✨ Breathwork (Pranayama) calms the nervous system, balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and shifts you from constant thinking into a state of presence.

Only then does meditation become natural—not something you struggle through.

If you’ve always thought meditation wasn’t for you, perhaps you’ve just been skipping the preparation.

I’d love to guide you through this process.

Join me for my Friday Morning Meditation Class at Heart Space, Copacabana.
🗓 Fridays | 7:30–8:30 AM
A gentle combination of movement, breathwork, meditation, and deep relaxation to help you start your day feeling grounded and clear.

How many times have you promised yourself, “This is the last time”?

Real change doesn’t always come through willpower alone. Sometimes it comes through consistent daily practice.

One of the greatest gifts Kundalini Yoga gave me was the freedom to let go of habits that no longer served me. Not by forcing myself, but by changing from the inside out.

Whether it’s alcohol, sugar, scrolling, overthinking, or any pattern that keeps you feeling stuck, every day you choose a different action, you’re rewiring your brain and creating a new way of being.

What habit are you ready to release?

For years, I thought “worry” meant feeling anxious or stressed… but Chinese Medicine taught me something deeper.

The Spleen is not only connected to digestion — it is also connected to the way we process thoughts, ideas, planning, analysing and mental activity.

When the mind is constantly busy, overthinking, organising and trying to solve everything, it can gradually deplete Spleen Qi. This may show up as:
✨ Feeling tired after eating
✨ Bloating or digestive discomfort
✨ Brain fog or forgetfulness
✨ Heavy limbs and low energy

The beautiful thing is that practices like Kundalini Yoga offer powerful tools to train the mind, cultivate one-pointed focus, and support the body’s energy systems.

Through kriya, meditation and breathwork, we can begin to shift mental patterns and create more balance between the mind and body.

Comment SPLEEN and I’ll send you some of my favourite Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations for supporting Spleen Qi.

When was the last time you truly disconnected from the outside world and connected with yourself?

Pratyahara is the practice of withdrawing the senses — not because the world is wrong, but because we need moments of stillness to hear what is within.

🧘‍♀️ A quiet mind begins with a turned-in awareness.

🌬️ Grief, Breath & Meaning 🌬️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Lungs govern breath, Qi, and our connection to life itself.

They decide what we receive… and what we release.

The emotion connected to the Lungs is grief.

Grief is what happens when we meet loss — in relationships, identity, dreams, or life transitions.

When Lung Qi is strong, we can breathe life in fully… and let life go fully. We don’t cling. We don’t resist. We trust the rhythm of taking in and letting go.

When Lung Qi is weak, we may experience:

✨ Shortness of breath or shallow breathing
✨ Frequent colds, allergies, or low immunity
✨ Low energy and fatigue
✨ Sadness, grief, melancholy, or difficulty letting go

The wisdom of the Lungs is simple:

🌿 Breathe in life.
🌿 Release what is gone.
🌿 Allow meaning to return through the breath.

The Lungs teach us that every ending creates space for something new to enter.

💭 Have you noticed where in your life you are being asked to let go?
