A biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure where a small sample of tissue is taken from the body to help diagnose or rule out a condition. Image-guided biopsies use ultrasound, CT or mammography to ensure the sample is taken from the exact area of concern with accuracy and precision.

The procedure is performed by an experienced radiologist using local anaesthetic, and most patients are able to return home shortly afterwards.
