Amsler grid is an easy at-home screening tool used to help monitor changes in central vision, especially for people at risk of macular conditions.

For those living with or at risk of Age-related macular degeneration, the Amsler grid can help detect early visual changes such as:
• Wavy or distorted lines
• Blank or missing areas
• Blurred central vision

Why is this important?
Because AMD can progress silently — and noticing subtle changes early can make a big difference in how quickly you seek care and treatment.

We recommend checking your Amsler grid regularly (even daily if advised) and covering one eye at a time to properly assess each eye individually.

But remember — the Amsler grid is not a replacement for eye exams. It’s a support tool, and regular comprehensive eye examinations with OCT imaging remain the best way to monitor macular health and detect changes early.
