These services include accommodation, respite support, social enterprises, and alternatives to employment/post-school.

At Midway, we love celebrating life's important milestones together. This week, we hosted a baby shower for Jess as she prepares to begin her parental leave.

It was a wonderful opportunity for colleagues to come together, share their best wishes and celebrate the exciting arrival of a new family member. We wish Jess and her family all the happiness as they embark on this special journey and look forward to welcoming her back in the future.

Day 2 of our August Induction was a fantastic opportunity for our newest team members to build the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, high-quality support. Yesterday's training focused on safe medication administration, supporting people living with epilepsy and a general overview of diabetes, helping our new starters develop confidence in supporting a variety of health needs.

Over the remainder of the induction program, our new team members will continue expanding their skills through training in manual handling, hoisting and safe transfers, Maybo & Rational Detachment, and Human Rights & Inclusion alongside valuable buddy shifts with experienced staff members.

This comprehensive induction ensures our new starters are equipped with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to deliver high-quality, person-centred supports that empower our participants to live full and meaningful lives.

We were thrilled to welcome Hannah Beazley MLA and Lisa Munday MLA to Midway Community Care on Wednesday.

It was a wonderful opportunity to show them around and introduce some of our amazing team and the people we support. We love having the chance to share our story and talk about the importance of ensuring people with disability are supported to live the lives they choose.

A big thank you to Hannah and Lisa for taking the time to visit, ask questions and learn more about Midway. We really appreciate your interest and support and look forward to welcoming you back again.

August is only a few sleeps away and with that comes Act Belong Commit Active August!

Act Belong Commit are promoting many ways to keep active - mentally, physically, socially, spiritually and culturally during the month of August. They have even created an Active August Calendar complete with 31 daily tips to help you get inspired with keeping active during the last month of Winter.

Or, if you have your own ideas, you can create your own calendar.

Either way, stay active during August and gear up for the warmer weather which is just around the corner.

Midway is pleased to announce and welcome Dan Peckover as a member of the Midway Board.

Dan brings more than 30 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and business development, gained across small, medium, and global organisations. Holding a Bachelor of Business (Finance) and an MBA, he has built his career on a foundation of curiosity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

After beginning his career in public accounting, Dan spent 26 years with Alcoa, working across mining, refining, and corporate environments. During this time, he transitioned from finance into strategy leadership, overseeing initiatives including long-term planning, asset portfolio reviews, competitor analysis, and major business development projects.

Dan also brings valuable governance experience, having served for six years on the Board of Governors at Fairbridge Inc.

A proud Mandurah local for more than 27 years, Dan is passionate about contributing to his community. In retirement, he enjoys spending more time with family, community involvement, and pursuing his love of cars and motorsport.

We are delighted to welcome Dan to the Midway Board and look forward to the insights, leadership, and experience he will bring to our organisation.
