Across our Medical Centres, the teams continue to do what they do best—providing essential services to our community with care, compassion and understanding. It is something we are incredibly proud of and a key part of how FRC continues to support the broader region. And there’s nothing more meaningful than hearing directly from the people we support. 💚

Here’s what some of our Medical Centre clients had to say recently.

We’re grateful when our clients take the time to share their experience – thanks for the kind words!

❄️ There’s something special about Finley in winter.

Yes, the mornings are cold and the days ask us to rug up a little more – but there’s also a quiet beauty to this time of year. The soft light over the river, peaceful walks in the fresh air, the sunrise stretching across town, and the familiar streets that remind us why this community feels like home.

At Finley Regional Care, we know how important it is to stay connected to the places and people that shape us. For many of our residents, Finley is more than a town – it’s a lifetime of memories, friendships and belonging.

We’d love to hear from you: what’s your favourite thing about Finley and the surrounding area?

The future of aged care starts close to home 🏠

Each year, Aged Care Week brings together leaders, providers and decision-makers from across Australia to talk about the future of aged care. It is a chance for the sector to reflect on what is changing, what needs to improve and how aged care can continue to deliver safe, respectful and person-centred support for older Australians.

But while these national conversations are important, the future of aged care is not only shaped in conference rooms or policy discussions. It is also shaped in regional communities like Finley, where care is deeply personal, families are connected and older people deserve to remain close to the people, places and routines that have helped define their lives.

For many families, choosing aged care is one of the most significant decisions they will make. It can come after a period of gradual change, a sudden health event, or the growing realisation that a loved one needs more support than can safely be provided at home. Whatever the circumstances, the decision is rarely just practical. It is emotional, personal and often filled with questions.

Will Mum feel comfortable? Will Dad be treated with dignity? Will staff understand who they are, not just what care they need? Will they still feel connected to the community they know?

These are the questions that matter. In our latest blog post, we explore why the future of aged care starts close to home – and what families should look for when choosing care for someone they love:

What we’ve been up to in May 🌷💐

We've had a terrific month of May and end of Autumn here at Finley Regional Care!

We were visited during May by some fantastic musical groups, such as The Splinters 12-piece brass band, Cindy Doherty, The Ukeladies and of course Keith Haidle’s performance at our monthly birthday parties is always a hit!

We celebrated our mums at a Mother’s Day morning tea, where our fabulous kitchen team baked some gorgeous cupcakes. Later that afternoon we were joined by the FRC Auxiliary who helped our residents create gorgeous flower arrangements to give to all the mothers here for their special day. Our residents loved the activity and loved their gorgeous flowers.

The Biralee preschoolers were back for a visit! We played Aussie Bingo all together and the children and our residents had a great time working in pairs! Lots of giggles and smiles, which was so beautiful.

We also played lots of new and old active games which have been so enjoyable for our residents – keeping us moving and active while having lots of laughs too.

Aged care myth-busting: Aged care is not one-size-fits-all 👥

Every person’s needs, preferences and circumstances are different, which is why the right support can look different for every family. For some, it may mean help at home with daily tasks. For others, it may include residential care, respite, nursing support, transport, social connection or a combination of services.

At Finley Regional Care, we’re here to help you understand your options and find the support that feels right for you or your loved one.
