Happy Wattle Day! Celebrated on 1 September I helped celebrate it on Saturday by leading a morning forest therapy walk for a local council. Wattle is a seasonal indicator in the Kulin calender in the season of Guling which is August. Did you know that each 'pom pom' of wattle contains 40-80 little individual flowers! Have a look at them up close. And no, wattle doesn't usually cause hay fever- it happens to be in flower around the same time the grass pollens are about.

Highlights of the walk included amplifying our senses, watching a show of rosellas chatting and sqwarking at chest height in nearby bushes, friendly magpies, finding a large clump of green hooded orchids, lots of wattle and finishing with a cup of warm aromatic tea.

Being fully present in our experience there are no photos, but please enjoy my wattle findings from this afternoon's wander.

I've been quiet here. It seems to be a sentiment for quite a few people of taking breaks or pulling back from social media to connect with the real earthy experience of breathing and being human.
I'm enjoying having a break, and will practice being human wirh you in the cuddle gathering in August.

Autumn is a favorite season and I love the magic of finding fungi on my walks. Today, a cloudy cool walk with my jacket on in the rain, had me find the cutest orange button mushroom- a faerie cottage a friend said.

I hope you are finding little moments of magic too. 🍄

Happy Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year, and the shortest day. A time you can snuggle in, sit by a fire, eat warm soup, sip tea or go to bed early. However, you mark the day and night, I wish you well.
I've enjoyed the solistice gathering at the Merri Creek Labyrinth, had some warming soup for lunch, and am currently sitting with a cup of tea (surrounded by my 2 cats). Solstice can also be a time to reflect on our inner light, and I am grateful for those today I met who shared their light with me in conversations, art, play, quiet and nature.

The solictice magic was being prepared today for Sunday's celebration 11-2pm. Celebrate the labyrinth revival and shortest day of the year. I'll be there helping under the Wishing Tree. ⭐️🌟⭐️

Thank you to for a wonderful walk together at the renewed labyrinth. It was my first time walking it, so yes, it felt different from the old one, and I loved it. Both special in their own ways. I could still feel decades of labyrinth walkers under feet. Happy World Labyrinth Day celebrations.

This one snuck up quick! The next cuddle gathering is just over a week away on a Wednesday evening in Fitzroy, and then there will be a break from cuddle events over Winter. Hope to see you there.
