Sometimes, pain is local; the area that hurts is the area that’s irritated. But in other cases, pain may be referred from another part of the body, or accompanied by protective changes such as muscle guarding and altered movement patterns.

For example, discomfort felt around the shoulder or arm can sometimes be influenced by structures in the neck, while pain around the hip or leg may have contributing factors elsewhere.

This is one reason chiropractors look beyond the painful area during an assessment. Depending on your presentation, this may include looking at joint movement, muscle function, posture, movement patterns and other factors that could be contributing to your symptoms. 🦴😴🏃🥗

Some the FCC team attended a hands-on Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) masterclass in Sydney over the weekend. 📚✨

The masterclass took a deep dive into the science of photobiomodulation; from mitochondrial function and specific wavelength effects to laser principles, clinical reasoning and hands-on application.

It was a valuable opportunity to further refine our team’s knowledge of LLLT, explore the science behind the technology and engage with current approaches to its use in clinical practice.

A big thank you to RehaCare and Dr Brett Jarosz (Chiropractor) for an informative and engaging masterclass. 🙌

Meet Dr Damon (Chiropractor)! 👋

Originally from Home Hill in North QLD, Dr Damon moved to Brisbane in 2019 to follow his passion for holistic healthcare. After completing his Chiropractic degrees with distinction, he now helps people move and feel their best at our Flagstone clinic.

Dr Damon’s journey into chiropractic originates from his own struggles with chronic headaches throughout his childhood. He tried various treatment avenues, ultimately leading to discovering the impact of chiropractic care.

Trained in diversified techniques, soft tissue therapy, dry needling / western acupuncture, rehabilitation protocols, drop piece, and activator methods, he offers a comprehensive approach to address a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns.
