Mabo Day | Today we honour Eddie Koiki Mabo and the historic decision that recognised the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country. June 3 marks a turning point in Australia’s story and a powerful reminder that truth, justice and recognition matter.
At Opendoor, we are committed to strengthening relationships with First Nations communities, respecting culture, and creating real opportunities for the people we support.
Reconciliation is ongoing work. It asks us to acknowledge history, take responsibility in the present, and contribute to a future shaped by fairness and respect for all.

🔦 What it means to be a Registered NDIS Provider , and why it matters.

With the passing of the NDIS Amendment (Integrity and Safeguarding) Bill 2026, there is a lot of discussion about provider regulation. We know that navigating the NDIS can feel overwhelming right now, which is why we want to provide absolute clarity on who we are.

Opendoor is a Registered NDIS Provider. We have maintained this registration since the scheme began, and it represents our intention to do things the right way. We meet the highest national standards so that you can focus on your goals with total peace of mind.

NDIS provider registration is your guarantee of safety and trust:

✔️Genuine accountability: We are directly accountable to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

✔️Strict safeguards: Our governance, independent quality audits, and worker screening processes are already fully established.

✔️Seamless continuity: As the government moves toward mandatory registration for more service categories, our participants can rest assured that their supports will remain secure and completely uninterrupted.

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week 2026. All In.

From 27 May to 3 June, we stand with communities across Australia for National Reconciliation Week. This year’s theme, All In, calls on all of us to commit fully to truth, respect and shared responsibility.

At Opendoor, reconciliation is action. We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access opportunity, strengthen independence and shape their futures. We remain committed to cultural safety, strong partnerships and walking forward together.

All In means everyone has a role. We continue to listen, learn and act with integrity as we build a more fair and inclusive future.

Today we observe National Sorry Day and honour the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations.

We acknowledge the harm caused by past government policies and the lasting impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities. Listening to truth and recognising history are essential to healing.

At Opendoor, we support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access opportunity and shape their own futures. Our work is grounded in dignity, with a commitment to cultural safety and real action.

National Sorry Day reminds us that reconciliation is ongoing. By continuing to listen, learn and act with integrity, we help build a future where fairness and opportunity are shared by all.

When it comes to NDIS support for your loved one, experience and trust are everything ❤️

Opendoor has been a part of the Melbourne community for 40 years, and we’ve been providing NDIS services since the very beginning. We understand that every participant is unique, which is why our approach is grounded in trauma-informed practice. We prioritise emotional safety, choice, and dignity in every interaction.

We nurture and build long-term relationships where your loved one is known, understood, and supported. After all, NDIS support is more than just a service; it’s about genuine community belonging.

And that’s a wrap for the Be Deadly Job Expo! ❤️💛🖤

We are so proud to host this annual event and to see the positive impact it continues to make in the community.

Be Deadly is a wonderful celebration of the merger between First Nations culture and employment opportunities. Today we were joined by over 50 employers and support services, and nearly 500 job seekers. This was our biggest year yet, with exhibitors spread over two entire floors of the Aborigines Advancement League in Thornbury, Naarm.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, from job seekers to employers. Special thanks go to Mitch Tambo for the brilliantly energetic performance, to Aunty Zeta for the insightful Welcome to Country, and to Brent Watkins for the beautiful dance moves and music!

Lastly, thank you to the team at Opendoor and to Workforce Australia North Eastern Melbourne for their partnership. We couldn’t have done this without you.
