🌈 Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, courage, and the fundamental right of every person to be seen, valued, and respected.

At Eleanor Clinic, we believe that exceptional healthcare begins with dignity. Every person who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, heard, respected, and cared for—regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, background, or life journey.
Pride Month reminds us that healthcare is about more than treating symptoms; it's about treating people with compassion, understanding, and humanity. When people feel accepted and respected, they are empowered to seek care, share their stories, and thrive.
As Maya Angelou so beautifully said, “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone belongs.
Because dignity, respect, and kindness are not just healthcare values—they are human values. 🌈✨
We are deeply grateful for the trust our community places in us every day. Your support allows us to continue providing compassionate, inclusive care, and we are honoured to be part of the lives and stories of so many people in our community. Thank you for helping us build a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.

👶 We Sent Her Home Before She Delivered! 💛
When you work in a clinic that cares for so many pregnant women and growing families, it is always a very special occasion when one of our own team members is expecting a baby.

For the past few months, there has been plenty of joking around Eleanor Clinic about whether Tennisha's baby might decide to arrive while Mum was still at work. We are delighted to report that we successfully sent our wonderful nurse off on maternity leave with baby still safely on board! 😄

Tennisha has been a much-loved part of our team and has cared for countless patients and families with warmth, kindness and genuine compassion. While we are going to miss seeing her around the clinic, we couldn't be more excited for her and her family as they prepare to welcome their newest little member.

We are hoping she gets at least a little time to put her feet up before baby arrives—although with an energetic three-year-old daughter at home, we suspect "rest" may be a relative term! 😊

Tennisha, thank you for everything you do for our patients, our community and our team. We are so grateful to have been part of your pregnancy journey and can't wait to meet the newest member of your family.

From all of us at Eleanor Clinic, we wish you and your family a wonderful parental leave filled with precious moments, laughter, cuddles and lots of love. 💕👶

We will miss you, and we can't wait to meet your little one! 🌿

Long weekend, good books, great company — fill your cup.

At Eleanor Clinic we believe you can’t pour from an empty cup. We talk about self‑care with our patients and do our best to practise it too. Each day we close for an hour at lunch so the team can enjoy a proper break together in our front garden — fresh air, good food and a chance to connect.

This long weekend we’re recharging and celebrating the recent launch of our staff book club, led by practice manager Meredith, a lifelong reader and book‑club champion. First meeting verdict: the book 3/10, the company 10/10.
Next book: Melaleuca.

Whatever fills your cup this weekend — a walk in the sun, a rest, a run, or time with friends — we hope you take it. If you need help, please reach out: find after‑hours medical and mental health support on our website.

🌿 Help Shape Safer Care for Women and Families 🌿

Eleanor Clinic is proud to be participating in the Walking Beside (WEB) Project, a research study led by the Safer Families Centre and supported by the University of Melbourne.

This important project aims to improve how general practices support women, children and non-binary people affected by domestic and family violence, helping connect people with the right care, support and services when they need them most.

As part of the project, our entire clinical team has undertaken additional training in recognizing, responding to and supporting people affected by family violence. This further strengthens the skills, knowledge and confidence of our team, helping us provide even higher-quality, trauma-informed care for individuals and families in our community.

Participation in the research is voluntary and confidential. The study has received ethics approval from the University of Melbourne, and patient information remains protected and is never shared with service providers without consent.

By taking part, you can help shape better healthcare and support pathways for people experiencing family violence, creating lasting benefits for our community and beyond.

At Eleanor Clinic, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and heard. This project is another step towards building a healthier, more connected community for all. 💚

💙👶 Over the past few weeks, Dr Aidan has been settling into one of life's biggest adventures – becoming a parent.

As GPs, we have the privilege of walking alongside families through so many important moments. We celebrate new pregnancies, support parents through sleepless nights, and watch children grow from newborns into curious, energetic little people.
Now, Dr Aidan is experiencing many of those moments from a whole new perspective.

The excitement of bringing a new baby home. The sleepless nights. The uncertainty that comes with wanting to do everything right. And the overwhelming love that changes your world in ways you never quite expected.

Parenthood teaches us that there is no such thing as a perfect parent. There is only doing your best, learning as you go, and showing up every day with love and care. And, if we're fortunate, building a supportive village around us along the way.

At Eleanor Clinic, family and community are at the heart of what we do. We know many of our patients will remember those early newborn days with a smile.

We are absolutely delighted for Dr Aidan and his family as they begin this new chapter together. ❤️

Please join us in congratulating Dr Aidan and his family on the arrival of their beautiful baby!

Needle-free flu vaccination for kids? Yes — it’s an option. 👃💨

Did you know children aged 2–17 years may be able to receive their flu vaccine as a simple nasal spray instead of an injection into the arm?

FluMist is a safe and effective flu vaccine that has been used for many years across North America and Europe. It can be a great option for children who feel anxious about needles or vaccinations.

At Eleanor Clinic, we also offer FluMist as a private vaccination option for eligible children and teenagers.

We know vaccinations can feel overwhelming for some children, so our team uses a range of supportive strategies during vaccine appointments — including sensory distraction techniques, distraction toys, and the Buzzy device, which uses vibration and cold therapy to help reduce discomfort and anxiety during vaccinations.

A few important things to know:
• FluMist is currently not part of the Australian National Immunisation Program, so there is a private cost involved in Victoria
• The standard injected flu vaccine remains free for children aged 6 months to 5 years, as well as eligible higher-risk groups
• Not every child is suitable for the nasal spray vaccine, so it’s important to discuss the best option with your GP or immunisation provider

If your child is over 2 years old and vaccinations have been stressful in the past, FluMist may be worth considering.

Today and every day, we are going “All In.”
This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the 2026 theme, All In — a powerful reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility and requires action, commitment, and care from all of us.
At Eleanor Clinic, we are proud to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for every patient in our community. We are committed to building respectful relationships that honour and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.
We also acknowledge the pain, trauma, and ongoing impacts of the past and recognise the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Reconciliation is not a moment in time — it lives in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward together.

At Eleanor Clinic, our vision has always been deeply personal to me — creating a clinic where people feel genuinely heard, cared for and safe, and where doctors and staff feel valued, supported and able to thrive in the work they love doing.

As a GP and a mum, I know how important it is to have healthcare that is compassionate, inclusive and built on trust and long-term relationships. So many people are carrying complex health concerns, chronic pain, mental health struggles, shame, trauma, exhaustion and the stress of everyday life. These things cannot be cared for in a rushed 5–6 minutes appointment.

This is why we are a private billing clinic. It allows us to provide the longer consultation times needed for thoughtful, high-quality and holistic care.

At Eleanor Clinic, we believe healthcare should mean:
💙 Time to listen
💙 Continuity of care
💙 Trauma-informed and inclusive healthcare
💙 Individualised treatment plans
💙 Comprehensive women’s health care and gender affirmation
💙 Supporting patients through all stages of life

We are also passionate advocates for better funding for vulnerable patients with complex needs. The people who need care the most are often the least supported by a healthcare system that increasingly rewards short, quick consultations.

Strong primary care changes lives. Having a trusted GP who knows your story, coordinates your care and walks alongside you over time leads to better outcomes for patients, families and the wider community. The evidence is very strong on this.

Thank you to all our patients and our community for your trust and support in making this vision possible. We never take for granted the privilege of caring for you and your loved ones.

Thank you to Hannah from Media for inspiring me at the RACGP conference to share more about my vision why I started Eleanor Clinic. Besides never haven run a business and just out of the passion to create a place I could provide high quaility inclusive health care, at a level that I would like my family and freind to be care for as well.
