KM Bowen Therapy

KM Bowen Therapy A soft tissue manipulation that resets your body's energy flow to help it heal itself. Working with meridians and the myofascia to find balance & wellness.

I’m Kylie Mitchell, a Bowen Therapist dedicated to promoting healing and wellness through the gentle art of Bowen Therapy. I completed my Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy in 2023 and I’ll have completed the Diploma in Bowen Therapy early 2026. With 17 years experience as a sports trainer, I specialise in injury prevention and rehabilitation, ensuring that my clients receive comprehensive care tailo

red to their unique needs. My passion lies in understanding the intricacies of the human body and facilitating it’s natural healing processes through Bowen Therapy, nutrition and rehabilitation strategies. I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness, viewing each individual as a whole person rather than just a symptom or condition. Bowen Therapy is a unique, non-invasive technique suitable for individuals of all ages and abilities. It complements other therapies such as osteopathy, chiropractic, remedial massage and physiotherapy, acting as a valuable addition to your wellness toolkit. By using subtle yet deliberate manoeuvres over muscles, tendons, ligaments and the fascia, Bowen Therapy helps the body to relax and triggers it’s natural healing response without the discomfort often associated with other therapeutic techniques. Bowen works across meridians, chakras, myofascial tracks and helps to balance the body’s vagus nerve, settling the entire system back to equilibrium. Explore a new approach to wellness, give Bowen Therapy a try, it just might work.

Tension can be protective, responsive, or adaptive.

It can reflect what the body is managing, not just what is “wrong.”

Understanding this changes how we approach the body — with more curiosity, less force.

The body doesn’t treat everything in isolation.

A small, precise input can be interpreted through interconnected systems — fascia, muscles, nerves, posture.

That’s why subtle work can have broader effects than people might expect.

It’s not about intensity.

It’s about communication.

Did you know that your jaw and pelvis are connected?

Research shows that when people with certain pain conditions (like complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS) had their jaw muscles relaxed, their hip flexibility improved. But when they clenched their jaw tightly, their hip flexibility decreased.

This study highlights something Bowen Therapists have long understood: tension or imbalance in one area of the body can affect distant parts.

In this case, the jaw and pelvis are linked through muscular and fascial connections, meaning tension in one area can restrict movement in the other.

Bowen Therapy’s gentle techniques aim to release tension and restore balance across the body.

By gently working with both local and interconnected areas, Bowen Therapy aims to encourage flexibility, ease discomfort, and support the body’s natural alignment.

Fascia — the body’s connective web — wraps around and supports every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ, holding the whole body together.

When it’s healthy, it helps us move with ease, stability, and flow.

When it’s tight or restricted, the whole body can feel it.

Gentle therapies like Bowen work with fascia, supporting the body’s ability to release tension and restore fluid movement, to the best of its ability.

Because when fascia feels free, so do you.

No pain no gain? Not necessarily …

It’s a common thought.

When something feels tight, painful or persistent, it makes sense to think it needs force.

But the body doesn’t always respond best to being pushed.

Sometimes it responds to clear, specific input... and the space to process it.

That’s where Bowen Therapy takes a different approach.
