This little darling is so deserving of her own slide in here 🤎🩷 Between 2010 & 2020 my clinic was through the at ebisu design in Elwood 🌊 🌊 They were some great times 🥹 This orchid was in our garden 🪴 and when I left Ebisu (during that wanderfully slow era) I asked my friend and landlord Miho, if I could please bring her home with me, to care for her there 🌸 🏡

With dedicated and reliable precision she blooms every year 🥹 She’s had healthy babies 🌱 she loves our sunny deck and she is a brilliant companion 📚

She reminds me to be patient. That there is a perfect time to bloom, a perfect time to wait and a perfect time to rest. That everything is in Gods care anyway, regardless of what you may choose to think. The air is breathing you darling, not the other way around 💫

📿💙 Why I Practice What I Teach

There’s one particular book that changed everything for how I experience acupuncture, and indeed myself.

Gateway to Expanded Healing ~ Esoteric Acupuncture Volume One by Dr Mikio Sankey. I picked it up and felt as though I was reading a language I didn’t yet speak, but somehow already knew. It was quite a weird feeling! I read it cover to cover and then I read it again. That was in 2011. I still read it, in fact I designed the Essentials Level One Esoteric Acupuncture training from that one book.

By that point I had been a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine for almost ten years and a practicing yogi for fifteen. I thought I had a decent grasp on the body and energy healing.

Then I sat in the presence of Dr Sankey himself and learned Esoteric Acupuncture.

I had never heard anyone say the word heart as much as he does. Heart wisdom and coherence as medicine, as the actual centre of everything.

And then came the moment my world tilted completely on its axis.

Mikio spoke about acupuncture points that harmonise and strengthen the chakras.

I remember sitting there thinking of course there are! Why had I never thought of that?!! 🤯

Ten years of needles. Fifteen years of yoga. And here was this meeting point I had somehow been circling my entire career without ever arriving. It wasn’t just exciting it felt thrilling. It was clarity that blew open so many doors in my mind.

That moment is why I do what I do. It’s why I teach. It’s why I keep going deeper. When I share this medicine I love to use the word ‘weave’ .. a treatment (or a meditation) feels just like energy weaving. It’s creative, it’s architectural, it’s wholesome and kind. It’s beautiful 💠💠💠 Feel into that 🪄

📿 While I’ve been guiding meditation classes for over a decade, this is my first year of teaching so in the very beginning stages .. which is another way of saying my numbers are humble and growth is my current existing challenge.

The thing is though, this is exactly what I am here in this lifetime to do. This is my language, my creative expression, my experience, knowledge and passion.

So I can’t argue with reality. I just need to keep going.

When previous participants of my EA course take a moment to share sentiments such as these, I cry. I do 🥹 They touch my heart and allow me to feel that lives are being positively influenced by esoteric acupuncture, in the same way that mine has been.

Esoteric literally means “that which is intended for or understood by only a small number of people with an interest or specialised knowledge. Secret or confidential, designed to be known by an inner circle”

Being a healer is already an esoteric practice. This work is unique and steadily refines your inner light 💫

📿 For this current meditation term we are revisiting the teachings from the Yoga Sutras Yamas & Niyamas ~ ethical restraints and inner observances ✨

For week one, the first principle of Yoga, non-violence of words, hands & actions ✨

Of course we hope to be in non violent relationships with others, but what of the relationship we have with ourselves? How do you speak to yourself when nobody is listening.

The invitation to realise that you are an integral part of the tapestry of life, that you are indeed Divine, and thus to offer deeper yourself respect, compassion & unconditional love. May peace be with you today and every day.
