Today is R U OK? Day đź’›

A conversation could change a life.

At St John of God Health Care, we know that meaningful connections and genuine care can make all the difference. Today, we're encouraging everyone to take a moment to check in with a colleague, friend, family member or neighbour.

You don't need to have all the answers. Simply asking, "Are you OK?" and listening with compassion can help someone feel supported and less alone.

Let's continue creating communities where people feel safe to talk about life's ups and downs.

Together, let's start the conversation.

Living with Parkinson’s disease can affect strength, balance, movement and confidence over time, but rehabilitation can play an important role in helping people stay active and independent.

At St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital, our inpatient rehabilitation programs support patients with neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, through tailored exercise, mobility and strengthening programs.

For many patients, rehab can help improve confidence with walking, reduce falls risk and support everyday function at home.

We currently have availability for inpatient rehabilitation admissions.

Cancer treatment can take a real toll on the body.
Many patients finish treatment feeling exhausted, weaker, less mobile and not quite like themselves physically.

Rehabilitation can help.
At St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital, we support patients recovering after cancer treatment to rebuild strength, improve endurance and regain confidence in everyday activities.

Sometimes people think they just need to “push through” after treatment, but structured inpatient rehabilitation can make recovery safer, more supported and often much more effective.

We currently have availability for inpatient rehabilitation admissions for patients experiencing deconditioning after illness or cancer treatment.

Rehabilitation is not respite care.

Our inpatient rehabilitation programs are active, goal-focused and tailored to every patient’s needs.

Many of our patients join us for around two weeks, working with a multidisciplinary team to improve mobility, strength, balance and everyday function after illness, surgery, cancer treatment or deconditioning due to natural ageing or lack of mobility.

The benefits of time with us can make a real difference, not only helping patients maintain independence, but also supporting carers by improving a person’s ability to care for themselves safely at home.

We currently have availability for inpatient rehabilitation admissions.

One of the things people are often surprised to discover at St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital is our hydrotherapy pool.

Hydrotherapy can be incredibly beneficial during rehabilitation, especially for patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery, living with arthritis, managing neurological conditions or rebuilding strength after illness.

The warm water environment can help reduce pressure on joints, improve movement and build confidence with exercise in a supported setting.

Our inpatient rehabilitation programs combine expert care with tailored therapy programs designed to help patients regain strength, mobility and independence.

And yes, we currently have inpatient rehabilitation availability.

Many people think rehabilitation is only for patients recovering from surgery or major injury, but that’s not always the case.

We also support people who have become deconditioned due to illness, reduced mobility, cancer treatment or simply spending more time inactive.

Our inpatient rehabilitation programs are designed to help patients rebuild strength, improve balance and regain confidence in everyday activities.

We have a simple goal to help you stay independent for longer.

Importantly, there is currently capacity available for inpatient rehabilitation admissions.

Talk to your GP or specialist about whether rehabilitation could help you or a loved one, or call our team and we can help to arrange your admission.
