+++ For details please see the further information box below.

I am a Certified member of the Meditation Association of Australia. In my role as a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher I am dedicated to helping others feel less alone with their life challenges. I know from my own life experience, - my successes and failures the benefits Mindfulness and Meditation has gifted me. I share practical applications of Mindfulness which can bring profound shifts and

benefits to your mental, emotional and physical well – being. Mindfulness and meditation can reduce stress and prevent stress and anxiety. It also creates greater empathy and compassion for yourself and others. Mindfulness and Meditation brings more joy into your life, leads to stronger relationships and helps you develop a more resilient approach to life challenges. It opens a wonderful doorway to a whole new way of being in the world. I have been practising Mindfulness Meditation for over 20 years. Like many others I discovered the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation during a particularly challenging period in my life. I have followed the Buddhist path since 2002. My background, training and life experience means I can teach Mindfulness and Meditation either from a non – sectarian perspective or interwoven with Buddhist Philosophy. I believe I bring to my classes a sense of passion, compassion and humour for the benefits of living in Mindfulness. Over the years I have been on a variety of retreats including those with Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese Zen Master who is credited with introducing Mindfulness to the West. I’ve also attended multiple insight meditation retreats. In 2015 I received certification from the Gawler Cancer Foundation as Mindfulness based Stillness Meditation Teacher. Mindfulness has shown me there is a way forward, there is a way to touch happiness even in the midst of life’s greatest challenges. I come from a varied background as a small business owner in Australia. *Garden Centre/ Nursery *A close association with the farming and veterinary industries. My core projects were related to Real Estate - Residential/Commercial sales and development. I've also been involved in and managed - Coaching/Personal Development Staff Training. Burnout saw me take early "retirement". It opened the door for me to live my life from a place of authenticity and self awareness. A transition to new adventures and fulfilling lifetime ambitions and dreams. Taking the leap of faith to spend much of my time as a self - funded volunteer overseas. I travelled extensively and also spent time as a Volunteer TEFL Certified Teacher in South East Asia. I embraced the role of Associate Producer to a Vietnamese Theatre Group. Chaired an NGO with a focus of education for children in rural Vietnam. The NGO provided teaching resources/innovative ideas on teaching English along with resources such as bicycles/uniforms/scholarships/libraries. In this capacity - I also recruited other volunteers/raised funds/created English Language Workshops and classes. Life has taught me being open to and listening to our intuition connects us to the divine. Writing/ +++ My Memoir is a work in progress.

As much as we are taught to believe we are separate, we live in a world that is totally interconnected. The same breath you are breathing now graced the tops of the Himalayas, touched the oceans, nourished countless of living beings, and continues its journey across this blue-green globe. The truth is, we are being breathed by this earth, and we are all in this together.

When we look at tensions between nations like Iran, Israel, and the United States, we are not only watching political events unfold. We are watching fear reacting to fear. Anger responding to anger. Pride defending pride.

The Buddha never justified war. Not once.

War requires killing. Killing requires hatred or delusion. Both destroy the mind long before they destroy cities.

The Dhammapada reminds us:

Victory breeds hatred.
The defeated live in suffering.
The peaceful live happily,
Having abandoned both victory and defeat.

Look closely at our world.
Every side claims victory.
Every side claims righteousness.
Every side carries pain.

But who carries peace?

War does not begin with missiles.
War begins when we stop seeing the other side as human.
When we reduce people to flags, labels, and enemies.

The Buddha’s teaching is radical even today:

Lay down the weapon.
Cultivate moral shame.
Be compassionate toward all living beings.

Not selective compassion.
Not political compassion.
Universal compassion.

Kindfulness is not weakness.
It is restraint when revenge feels easier.
It is dialogue when shouting feels justified.
It is humanity when hatred feels normal.

Before we ask nations to change, we must ask ourselves:

• Do you celebrate revenge in your own life?
• Do you enjoy being right more than being peaceful?
• Do you see opponents as enemies or as human beings shaped by fear?

Peace does not start in parliaments.
It starts in the human heart.

The Buddha did not divide the world into East and West.
He divided experience into wholesome and unwholesome states of mind.

Hatred is unwholesome.
Compassion is wholesome.
The result follows the cause.

If even one leader truly lived “nihitadaṇḍo nihitasattho” — laying down rod and weapon — history would change.

The real question is not whether war is justified.
The real question is whether we have the courage to refuse hatred.

Now I ask you:

What do you believe creates lasting security, power or compassion?
Comment with one word: Power or Compassion.

Let this be a space for thoughtful reflection, not argument.

May fear soften.
May wisdom arise.
May all beings be safe.

What is Mindfulness?

The 'Sathiya' (Sati) which comes in Buddhism is called Mindfulness in English. The simplest meaning here is "passing the right consciousness of the present moment". We often live by regretting what happened in the past or fearing what may happen in the future. But it's what we do to bring our minds back to the 'now' moment.
Why is consistency important in a peace walk?
A peace walk is not just a walk on the road. It's a Sakman Meditation (Walking Meditation).

Taking every step there, staying mindful of how the foot touches the earth and balance of the body.
Conscious observation of the natural breathing process during walking.
Non-judgmental looking at the surroundings without judgment. For example, if you hear a sound, it's just the consciousness of "hears a sound" without sticking the labels.

There are many advantages of mastering consistency,
Mental Relief - Unwanted Thoughts and Stress Lack.
Being able to pay more attention to the work done.
Patience - being able to manage instant anger and deal with others more kindly.
Seeing the truth - growing the ability to see the world as it exists.

"Don't follow the past, don't wish for the future. See the present correctly. " — By the formula of Bhad Dekaratta
