I’m so looking forward to this symposium. I’ll be sharing more on music therapy in emerging models of care with a focus on preventative healthcare and music therapy in ecological models. All with the intent to share reflections and connect, communicate and collaborate with music therapists attending the symposium in-person and online. There’s lots of great workshops and presentations across the day. I can’t wait!

Time for the school curriculum to change? More focus on creative thinking, creative practice and social connection?

There's a lot not perfect right now, hats off to the teachers who do amazing work. And this is not just a UK debate... Hari is talking here about the national UK curriculum on Dr Mayim Bialik's Breakdown podcast

What do you think? Should we re-examine the school curriculum with an AI lens on the future? AI probably already has an answer for this ... I imagine.

Honestly, this musical memory just popped up and could not be better timed. By chance, our singing mamas arranged it on Monday too. Will share that later.

For now, for everyone, “don’t worry, bout a thing, cos every little thing, gonna be alright”.

Thanks Evergreen Music for the musical memory. Supporting kids of all ages, all abilities to be musicians for life. Miss M still plays. Love your work 🎶

🎶 We’ve Launched – Tune In, Vibe Up!

Today marked the first session of our new inclusive workshops for high school students focused on music for health and wellbeing. And what an amazing start.

Session 1 of 4 explored why music matters for our health… and how we use it in both healthy and, sometimes, unhealthy ways. We also introduced students to MoodyTunes, an app that connects with Spotify to create playlists to support your mood.

📍 Hosted at Cromer High School for Years 8–9, our program welcomed 60 students to the workshops from across mainstream and specialist learning support classes.

📊 Student evaluations shared that:
• 75% learned something new about how music affects their health
• 68% would recommend the workshop to a friend
• 69% now feel more confident using music in healthy ways

💛 Huge thanks to the brilliant teachers and staff at Cromer High School for their warm welcome and support for us and their students. The vibe was really good!

We can’t wait to be back for Session 2, where we’ll dive into accessible and collaborative songwriting.

Thanks to Ellen Mara, registered music therapist. Photos by Marcos from Little Frames creative and digital agency. Thanks also to Dr Sandra Garrido from Moody Tunes.

This project is grant funded by Northern Beaches Council

Music Therapy and speech therapy working together to develop your child's communication skills.

Our favourite collaboration is back - Amplify - jointly led by Anita from Tuned In Music Therapy and Gabi from LEAP Centre.

This small group session focuses on play, singing and storytelling using speech and music therapy strategies to expand communication for children in their early years.

Parents will gain practical techniques to use at home, while children have fun in play and song.
