Continuing education is an important part of providing informed, considered healthcare.

Cesar is an OncoLaser Partner and has undertaken education in the use of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) within supportive cancer care and rehabilitation.

This area of education explores applications of PBMT in relation to treatment-related symptoms such as pain, inflammation and lymphoedema.

Supportive care is highly individual, and appropriate clinical assessment and communication with a patient's broader healthcare team remain important when considering treatment.

Cesar's involvement with OncoLaser forms part of his broader commitment to ongoing professional development and understanding the evolving clinical applications of photobiomodulation.

Weekend sport, running, training and outdoor activity often start ramping up as the weather gets warmer. 🏃‍♂️

And after a quieter winter, increasing training volume too quickly can sometimes contribute to foot and lower-limb problems.

If pain appears when you return to sport, consider how quickly your training has increased and whether your footwear is still appropriate for the activity.

Persistent pain, swelling or a change in function is also worth having assessed rather than simply trying to train through it.

Cesar works with patients across a range of sporting and activity-related presentations, with management tailored to the injury, the individual and their goals.

Here's to an active spring on the Northern Beaches!

Arthritis and persistent joint pain can make everyday tasks increasingly uncomfortable.

In this reel, Cesar demonstrates the use of laser therapy for a patient experiencing arthritis-related hand pain, using the MLSÂŽ M8 robotic system alongside M-HI laser technology.

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) may be considered as part of an individual pain management and rehabilitation plan, depending on the patient, their symptoms and clinical assessment.

At Belrose Frenchs Forest Podiatry Centre, Cesar continues to explore evidence-informed applications of laser technology across a range of musculoskeletal presentations.

Treatment suitability and outcomes vary between individuals, and an assessment is important to determine an appropriate approach.

You may have seen MLS® Laser Therapy being used in the clinic – but what exactly is it?

MLSÂŽ Laser Therapy is a form of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) that uses specific wavelengths of light and may be incorporated into the management of selected musculoskeletal conditions.

Depending on the individual presentation, Cesar may consider laser therapy alongside other aspects of a broader treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Importantly, technology doesn't replace a thorough assessment. Treatment recommendations are based on the individual, their condition and their goals.

Spring is here, and for many of us that means getting outdoors and becoming more active again. ☀️

Whether you're returning to running, walking more, getting back into weekend sport or simply spending more time on your feet, a sudden increase in activity can sometimes bring foot and lower-limb concerns to the surface.

If you’re noticing persistent heel or arch pain, soreness around the ankle, changes in your walking or running, or another concern that is limiting your activity, a podiatry assessment can help identify what may be contributing.

At Belrose Frenchs Forest Podiatry Centre, we provide individual assessment and management options based on your presentation, goals and activity levels.

Not every temporary ache requires treatment, but ongoing or worsening foot pain should not simply be ignored.

Consider arranging an assessment when pain:
• continues for more than a few days or keeps returning
• affects walking, work, sport or sleep
• is accompanied by swelling, redness or a change in movement
• follows an injury or prevents normal weight-bearing

A podiatry assessment can help identify possible contributing factors and discuss suitable next steps based on your individual circumstances.

Children do not always recognise that ongoing foot or leg discomfort is unusual.

It may be worth arranging an assessment if your child regularly complains of sore feet or legs, avoids activities they previously enjoyed, trips frequently, develops an ongoing limp or wears their shoes unevenly.

There can be many reasons for these signs, so an individual assessment is important before making recommendations.

Contact the clinic on (02) 9451 9432 if you have concerns about your child’s feet or movement.

What would you like to ask a podiatrist?

It could be about heel pain, children’s feet, work boots, sports injuries, footwear or general foot health. Leave your question in the comments and we’ll select a few to answer in future posts.

Please remember that advice is general only. Personal recommendations require an individual clinical assessment. Get in touch with the team on (02) 9451 9432 to book an appointment!

Knee pain does not always begin at the knee.

In some people, foot posture, movement patterns and footwear may influence how forces travel through the lower limbs. This can place additional load on the knees during walking, work or exercise.

If knee discomfort is persistent or affecting your activity, a podiatry assessment may help identify contributing factors. Recommendations should always be based on an individual assessment.
