Sometimes healing doesn’t feel like becoming more of yourself.
Sometimes it feels like losing everything you thought you were. ✨
The roles you learned to perform.
The relationships you learned to shrink inside of.
The coping patterns that once kept you safe.
The version of you who knew how to survive… but not necessarily how to feel free.
And that can be disorienting.
Because even when something no longer belongs to us, familiarity can still feel like safety. 🌙
We can grieve what we have outgrown.
We can miss people we know we cannot return to.
We can question ourselves when peace feels unfamiliar, boundaries bring guilt, or the life we once tolerated suddenly feels impossible to inhabit.
But perhaps you are not losing yourself at all.
Perhaps you are meeting the parts of yourself that were buried beneath adaptation, expectation, survival and everything you learned you needed to be in order to belong. 🌿
Healing asks us to become intimate with that in-between place…
The space between who you were
and who you are becoming.
The space where the old no longer fits…
but the new has not fully revealed itself yet.
And maybe that space isn’t something to escape.
Maybe it is sacred.
A threshold.
A portal.
A place where you learn to trust your own truth again. ✨
You do not have to know exactly who you are becoming.
You only need enough courage to stop abandoning yourself in order to remain who you have already outgrown.
Trust what is leaving.
Trust what is emerging.
And most of all…
trust yourself in the space between. 🕊️
