On Mondays meeting unfortunately we could not weigh in due to issue with our scales which should be fixed by next week, but we still enjoyed having a meeting with our members.

At our meeting 2 members gave us a great talk about how important protein is in our diet and gave us a tasting of a Greek yoghurt and jelly dessert & some herbal tea. It was very yummy and enjoyed by all members.

Greek yoghurt and jelly recipe
2 cups Greek yoghurt
1 packet lite jelly (cooled slightly)

Beat Greek yoghurt until fluffy and then slowly add the cooled jelly until it resembles a mousse consistency. Refrigerate until set.

At Mondays meeting we had over 20 people weigh in with a total loss of 4.1kgs 🎉

Graduate was 500g away from their goal weight.

June is a free month for all members.
Monthly awards next week for April/May

We spoke about how to portion your plate and healthy meal ideas. A member also shared a recipe for Egg in the hole Parmesan crumpets 😋

At last Monday’s meeting we had 23 members weigh in with a total loss of 8.3kgs 🎉

Group A winner lost 1kg
Group B winner lost 2.65kgs
Graduate was 750g away from their goal weight.

Our next meeting on the 25th May will still be at Gawler Sports and Community Centre but from 1st June we will be back at the Gawler Elderly Centre where we will continue our meetings.

At our meeting we had a great conversation about sugar in fruit. It was very interesting. We also discussed the benefits of drinking water.

We had a tasting of Sakata Whole grain rice crackers. They were very yummy.

On Mondays meeting we had 20 members weigh in with a total loss of 3.2kgs 🎉

Hopefully we will be back having meetings at the elderly centre on the 25th May. We will know more on the 11th May & let everyone know.

We had a member bring in Freeze dried fruit crispy fruits & Shapes light and crispy salt & vinegar. We all had a try and they were very yummy.

We also had a member suggest the Yuka app. It helps you decide if food is healthy or not.

Remember we are only meeting every 2 weeks so our next meeting is 11th May. See you there!

At yesterday’s meeting we had 17 members weigh in with a total loss of 3.2kgs.

Unfortunately the elderly centre toilet upgrade has had a few set backs & will be closed until at least the 17th May. Due to this we will be still having our meeting at Gawler Sport and Community Centre until further notice. We have decided as a group that until we are back at the elderly centre we will only have meetings every other week. Our first meeting back after Easter is the 13th April and then we will meet alternate weeks after that.

We will discuss moving back to the elderly centre when we know more about when the renovations will be finished.

We had a great talk about how many steps it takes to burn off certain foods. They ranged from 20 steps for a jelly baby to 12,000 steps for a meat pie. It was very interesting.

A reminder there is no meeting next week due to Easter Monday!!

We have had some great discussions about fruits and vegetables and all the wonderful benefits we get from them. We also discussed being careful “drinking calories”. Some drinks can have lots of extra calories our bodies don’t need so it’s worth checking the nutritional panel.
