PATIENT WIN ✨

🎉 Congratulations to Jamie on completing her first marathon at the Gold Coast Marathon on 5 July!
Jamie started running just two years ago with a walk/run program, gradually building up to 5 km and 10 km fun runs. She then set herself the goal of completing her first half marathon at the Gold Coast Marathon last year.
Her preparation wasn’t without challenges. During training, Jamie suffered a femoral stress reaction that interrupted her progress. She worked closely with Erica and Carly throughout her rehabilitation, focusing on strength and conditioning, AlterG treadmill sessions, and a running assessment to safely return to running.
Jamie went on to successfully complete the Gold Coast Half Marathon and backed it up by completing another half marathon in Melbourne in October.
This year, she achieved an incredible milestone by completing her first full marathon at the Gold Coast Marathon.
We are so proud of Jamie and everything she has achieved. Her running journey is a testament to her dedication, resilience, and the hard work she has put in every step of the way.

Congratulations, Jamie! We can’t wait to cheer you on as you take on the Melbourne Half Marathon again this October. 👏🏅

PHYSIO SPOTLIGHT ⭐️ Carly Spehar ⭐️

Congratulations to Carly on an amazing week working with Victorian State Gymnastics Team - read Carly’s recap on her time in Sydney below:

What an incredible week in Sydney, representing Victoria as one of the Trampoline State Team Physiotherapists at the Australian National Gymnastics Championships.

It was a privilege to support our Victorian athletes while working alongside highly respected sports physicians and physiotherapists in a high-performance environment. Experiences like this continue to challenge and develop my clinical skills, strengthen my decision-making under pressure and reinforce the importance of collaborative athlete care.

Watching these gymnasts compete at the highest level was truly inspiring. The precision and courage required in trampoline gymnastics is remarkable, with the smallest miscalculation often being the difference between a flawless routine and a serious fall. Witnessing the dedication these athletes bring to their sport is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to continuing to support Gymnastics Victoria and its athletes in the future.

Huge congratulations to Jemima Hood on an incredible achievement at the Oceania Athletics Championships last week 👏🏃‍♀️

Jemima placed 3rd in the U18 Women’s 100m Hurdles final, completing for Australia. An amazing result and a reflection of her hard work, dedication and determination.

Corio Bay is proud to have had Jemima work with her long time Physiotherapist - Justin Edwards - at the clinic throughout her training, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next. Big things for sure! ⭐️

✨ Round 1 Highlight ✨
This one is a bit special

Williamstown got the W on Friday night at home vs Frankston in a nail biter - but the real celebration for us
was seeing Adam Walters on the sidelines, kicking off his 25th year as Physiotherapist at Williamstown💛💙

25 years of tape, rehab, advice, laughs and probably a few “you’ll be right”s 😅

Players come and go, but committed and loyal people like Adam are the backbone of a footy club!

Congrats on 25 incredible years of dedication, Adam!
Go ‘Gulls 💪🏼

Justin Edwards! Is there anything this man isn’t involved in when it comes to junior sport in our community?

Juz delivered his annual education session to the athletes this week! Hope they know how lucky they are to have the skills and knowledge of Justin available to them, because we sure do!

The Barwon Sport Academy athletes are currently undergoing their pre season screenings at Corio Bay Health Group, keep an eye out to see some of the different assessments and equipment we use for these!
